• Canada Land Inventory stated it as not prime land – Class 4 and 5
• Canadian Niagara Power states that the property has suitable distribution lines

Why we sent in all the forms for all the Resolutions
• We required a Land Use Exemption initially, since we did not have a planner’s signature on the required form
• We wanted to cover our bases • Since the property is appropriate, we only require
the Visual Screening and Setback Acknowledgment
• The Municipal Council Support Resolution is for Priority Points
What about next year?
• IESO may not offer the program next year – Solar Ontario Conference
• IESO has not announced a program for next year or when the application period will be
• If they do announce one, we suspect it will start at the same time as this year: – late October – early November – For construction in 2018
Why approval Requested?
• To obtain two (2) Priority Points in favour of our project, as the other roof top projects have received
Town of Fort Erie Official Plan 9.3 ENERGY CONSERVATION • In order to provide support for improved energy efficiency
and air quality, opportunities will be provided for alternative and renewable energy systems in accordance with the Green Energy Act.
• Alternative and/or renewable energy systems are permitted within Fort Erie, subject to the development and use of alternative and/or renewable energy systems being in accordance with provincial and federal requirements, including appropriate separation distances to address land use compatibility and consideration for standard but important site plan matters with respect to drainage, landscaping and access where relevant.

• Compliant with IESO rules and Fort Erie By-Law for structures on Rural (RU) Land
• Financial Implications for the Town – Value of the property will increase, thus increasing
property taxes – Substantial increase in tax mill rate
• The language of the Municipal Council Setback Resolution must be the same as shown in the template.
