REGIONAL GOVERNMENT The Council of the Regional Municipality of Niagara is comprised of the Chair and 30 Councillors representing five cities, five towns and two townships. Geographically, the Niagara Region covers 715 square miles (1852 square kilometres) and has a population of 427,421 (2006 Statistics Census). Regional Council normally meets every third Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber, Regional Municipal Building, 1815 Sir Isaac Brock Way, Thorold, Ontario. The meetings are open to the public. Niagara Region Responsibilities:
