My previous roles working in the community and voluntary sector provided me with sound knowledge and skills about how best to involve people to develop health and social care services, it was a privilege to be able to use these skills to benefit the communities within which I lived. “The best part of the Lay Member role is being able to work with lots of different people to achieve a shared vision. It’s incredibly rewarding to be part of a system that brings together a wide range of people to work together for the benefit of local people. “The role is as challenging as it is rewarding and there are always new things to learn and situations to respond to. In order to be a successful Lay Member you’ll need to; have a sound knowledge what good patient and public involvement is, be able to build relationships with a wide range of people and be a strong advocate for the people of St Helens.” Geoffrey Appleton, Chair said: “I would like to thank Rachel for her all her hard work and tenacity during her time with NHS St Helens CCG. She has ensured patient and public involvement is threaded through everything we do and the patient voice is represented at every opportunity. “The ideal candidate will be someone who has significant experience in effectively engaging the public in as wide a range of situations as possible.” Rachel Jones NHS St Helens CCG Patient & Public Involvement Governing Body Lay Member NHS St Helens CCG wishes to recruit a dynamic and motivated Patient & Public Involvement (PPI) Lay Member to its Governing Body.
