NHHS VOLLEYBALL UPDATE…

Wednesday, October 7th

This year the fall count day for Michigan’s schools is on Wednesday October 7th. It is critical that we have students in school on this day as it is directly connected to the funding we get from the state. Make every effort to have your child in school on count day. Thank You!

ROCKET RUNNERS !!!! New Haven's Endeavor School recently started a new

running and sports team. The program, called Rocket Runners, meets three days per week for one hour after school for students in the 1st through 6th grades. The program is completely free to students and will culminate on October 13th when the students participate in a one mile cross country race at Stony Creek Metropark against many other schools in Macomb and surrounding counties. Principal Kristin Guinn has been instrumental in promoting the program and likes seeing the kids active! Rocket Runners is meant to introduce the kids to running, but there's also time for lots of games including no-rules soccer, capture the flag and super freeze tag. This program is getting kids moving and promoting a healthy lifestyle. Forty students are registered for the program this year, and next year we hope to further expand and offer a competitive cross country team for the 7th and 8th grades as well. This new program should dovetail nicely with the new cross country program at the High School. Rocket Runners is coached by volunteers Dave and Jess Youngblood and Joe and Jaymie Ashcraft. Go Rockets!

Congratulations to the JV Volleyball team from NHHS who took 2nd place at the Warren Fitzgerald Invitational recently. The girls participated with 10 other teams and came home with a 2nd place finish! The team is coached by Liz Baade. Go Rockets! Taylor Jones, Shelby Koralewski, Lexi Bumbalough (sitting) Raychael Banks, Hannah Ales, Emily Brohl, Hali Rucker, Madison Mooney-Sanders (standing).
