What is a gradient?
A gradient is a slope of the line

What is a positive slope?
A positive slope is a slope that shows a positive trend from left to right

What is a negative slope
A negative slope is a slope that shows a negative trend from left to right

Types of gradients
There are 3 types of gradients:
Where gradient is 0
where the gradient is a positive or negative gradient
where the gradient is undefined.

Where gradient = 0

Postive or negative gradient

Undefined Gradient

How to find a gradient?
Gradient works in this formula:
![Page 11: Ngqiyuan](https://reader033.fdocuments.in/reader033/viewer/2022052907/559138321a28ab0d498b4677/html5/thumbnails/11.jpg)
For example
If you are given 2 points, (2,4) and (6,8) , this is a picture to show you:
![Page 12: Ngqiyuan](https://reader033.fdocuments.in/reader033/viewer/2022052907/559138321a28ab0d498b4677/html5/thumbnails/12.jpg)
To find the gradient, you take x2 – x1 and y2 – y1
So, the gradient is 4/4
