Through its socially responsible programmes, the Lodge enriches the lives of those living within this community. From day one CECT has benefitted directly from a land lease fee and bed levy, as well as employment. Ngoma Safari Lodge is situated in Northern Botswana within the Chobe Forest Reserve bordering the western edge of Chobe National Park and overlooking the Chobe River, 55 kilometres/34.1 miles from Kasane and 135 kilometres/83.7 miles from the mighty Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. Ngoma Safari Lodge to Ngoma Gate Bridge (border post with Namibia) is a distance of 7 kilometres/4.34 miles whilst the distance to Chobe National Park Ngoma Gate entrance is 5 kilometres/3.1 miles. ACCESS Flights via Kasane Airport - Botswana, Victoria Falls Airport - Zimbabwe or Livingstone Airport - Zambia. Road transfers are approximately 1 hour 15 minutes from the Kazungula border with Zambia, 1 hour from Kazungula Border with Zimbabwe, 45 minutes from Kasane Airport and approximately 3 hours from Livingstone or Victoria Falls airports. ACCOMMODATION All 8 river-facing suites have spacious internal and external living areas (upgraded in February 2013) a bath, an inside and outside shower, overhead fans, air conditioning, mini bar, tea/coffee facilities and an open lounge. In addition, each suite has a private ‘refresh and relax’ pool conveniently located in the external living area. ALL ROOMS ARE EQUIPPED WITH THREE-QUARTER BEDS THAT CAN BE CONVERTED TO A KING SIZE BED Two of the eight suites have Indian day beds and may be used as triples. Each of the suites has a view of the river and offers the opportunity to see the famous Chobe elephants, migrating zebra or buffalo grazing on the floodplain below. ACTIVITIES With our association with CECT, cultural experiences and interaction with the community are an integral part of the lodge’s activities and these include visits to the local school, the clinic and the village. As Ngoma Safari Lodge is situated in the Chobe Forest Reserve, both walking and night drives are permitted. Activities include: Game Walks: – on the concession escorted by an armed Professional Guide A full day safari: - includes a cruise on the Chobe River, driving within the Chobe National Park and a picnic lunch and drinks Game Drives: - in the region there are over 75 species of mammals day drives are into Chobe National Park and night drives are on the concession Birding:- there are over 450 species to be spotted in the region FACTS AND FACILITIES Panoramic views overlooking the Chobe River and Floodplain. 5 star bush Lodge with 8 individual spacious suites, incorporating rustic and ethnic accents with natural materials and finishes throughout, constructed of local brick under thatch. Private ‘refresh and relax’ pools located in the external living area of each suite. The central guest area is built adjacent to a magnificent Baobab and overlooks the Chobe River incorporating: - o Reception, guest sitting room, dining room and bar area o Internet and communication facilities – subject to local service providers o A swimming pool, sundeck and adjacent viewing platform 220 volt mains plus back up generators
