SoF is an international Network Organization who develops the mind & talent in young people. Through developing the mind, youngsters are able to believe more in themselves and taking responsibility for their own creation process and results in their life. purpose of life is JOY and the result of life is GROWTH... SoF is reaching this outcome by organizing projects, training & workshops in the field of "Personal Development & Entrepreneurship" in an informal way based on EXPERIENCE and FUN.

The main purpose of SoF INGO is bringing young people from in and outside Europe together in an informal setting for learning junctures through fun. Bringing youngsters and youth initiatives from different cultures together, they are able to develop new and creative outcomes among youngsters and strengthened their co-operations.

We instigate integration, allowance, and tolerance as the principle of a world village. We encourage youngsters in their personal growth so that they can develop their talents, reflect on their belief system to rely on themselves and create their own dreams.

To reach this goal SoF INGO has formed a “Deliberate Thinking" academy where youngster from anywhere in the world can develop and experience their talents and dreams in an informal way and learn more about, networking, entrepreneurship and the creation process.The Academy has a fixed infrastructure in Belgium and Bulgaria and a mobile unit to travel all around the world and co-operate with our sustainable partners. The Academy branches out projects such as YDS, YI TA & YES. YDS means Youth Development Society YITA means Youth Intelligent Thinking Academy YES means Young Entrepreneurs Society

BULGARIA, Sofia – ARABIS

Association ARABIS is a fully independent non-profit public benefit organization. Founded in 2010 by young people graduated in MENA studies and Arabic language at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski " its main objectives are to intensify relations between the Bulgarian and Arab societies in all spheres of public life and to promote the active participation of young people in building active citizenship in a tolerant and democratic society.

Our target groups are students and young people from Bulgarian, Arabic or mixed origin, as well as any foreigners residing in Bulgaria. ARABIS 's governing body consists of three members headed by a chairman, and a general assembly of twenty-five members who participate in the organization’s activities planning and the implementation of its goals. We address problems such as inter-cultural communication, youth entrepreneurship, anti-xenophobia and integration of refugees, active citizenship of young people and social welfare development.

EXPERIENCE

Through the voluntary work and donations of its members and supporters ARABIS has up till now implemented 6 own projects without anу external funding. In 2013 we implemented 1 EU funded project YiA BG13/A1.2/221/R2 and 1 Sofia Municipality funded project backed up by the private sponsorship of Qatar Airlines.

Since the early days of the organization, we offer an internship program and till now have mentored some 10 graduates, most of whom have ultimately become members of the organization including its current governing body members. That is, the management of the organization have always paid due attention to promoting self-development, creativity and spirit of entrepreneurship amongst its members, supporters, fans and these efforts have ultimately paid off as most of our initiatives are managed and implemented on a volunteer work basis.

Till very recently our activities were concentrated in the inter-cultural dialogue field, along with youth work facilitation and stimulation of self-development and active citizenship. In order to guarantee financial stability to the organization, a circle of members have created, developed and implemented a series of services that ultimately helped the most active and competent establish a trade company that provides services to customers and financing to the organization.

CROATIA, Zagreb – Slon

Slon (Elephant) was founded in order to promote mobility, the development of creativity and art, social inclusion, environment and entrepreneurship and nonformal learning.

EXPERIENCE

Activities of the NGO are: Informing and educating the public by organizing forums, lectures, seminars,

workshops, exhibitions and entertainment events to promote personal development in the field of creativity, Arts, Business and Mobility

GREECE, Athens - Youthnet Hellas

Youthnet Hellas is a non-governmental and non-profit organization that aims to engage young people at local, national, European and international level through activities and interventions. Youthnet Hellas started as a Youth Network 15 years ago, evolved into a Confederation of Local Youth Councils

countrywide, and eventually from 2009 onwards developed into its current form, that of a flexible and modern NGO with members from all over Greece.Youthnet Hellas is aiming to promote young people’s participation, information, social

inclusion, voluntarism and active citizenship in community life in National, European and International level (in compliance to the European Commission’s 2001 White Paper on Youth). Youthnet Hellas’ specific goals are:

enhancing the role of young people at decision-making centers promoting the role of NGOs in National, European and International level promoting multicultural dialogue endorsing the development and implementation of politics supporting children’s and

young people’s rights encouraging environment-friendly actions that lead to better life quality advocating respect for democracy, peace, diversity and human rights participating in actions that contribute to the financial and social development of

developing countries, the strengthening of democratic values and human rights respect encouraging exchange mobility and dialogue amongst young people regardless of their

nationality

EXPERIENCE

Youthnet Hellas was awarded in July 2013 the European Citizen’s Prize 2013 by the European Parliament, an award intended to reward on annual basis individuals or groups who have particularly distinguished themselves in strengthening European integrations by the expression of European cooperation, openness to others and practical involvement in the development of mutual understanding.

In addition, Youthnet Hellas’ proposal entitled «Training for Developing Youth Reporting Capacities” (You.Re.Ca.) was awarded the certification of quality and excellence by UNESCO during the 8th Youth Forum held in Paris between 29 and 31 October 2013. From the 1532 proposals submitted from around the world, Youthnet Hellas’ proposal was in the top 15 worldwide and in the top 3 of the geographical area of Europe and North America.

Some of Youthnet Hellas’ most important activities since 2009 are:

Participation in 156 EU subsidized European Projects (Youth in Action, Youth in the World and Grundtvig) in various EU countries with active participation of 503 Young men and women from Greece. This volume of EU projects brings Youthnet Hellas, informally, at the top spots amongst other Greek NGOs that participate in similar EU projects (http://www.youthnet.gr/index.php/en/activities/yia)

Research, writing and presentation of the 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 Annual Youth Report that was completed by an independent, non-governmental organization for the first time in Greece. (http://youthnet.gr/index.php/en/activities/reports).

Participation along with other 5 NGOs in the National Work Group on Youth Employment within the framework of structured dialogue for the European Cooperation in Youth Sector (Nationally coordinated by the General Secretariat of Youth - GSY).

Recently, Youthnet Hellas was funded by the European Commission’s Secretariat General for Culture, Education and Youth (Youth in the World - Action 3.2) for the implementation of the project “Strategic tools for effective promotion and sustainability for NGOs” (STEPS for NGOs), with the participation of NGOs from Bulgaria, Italy, Austria, Nepal, Vietnam, Mexico and Peru. Youthnet Hellas has been the Youth Supporting Structure during the Heraklion’s candidacy for European Youth Capital 2012 and 2014. Both times the candidacy managed to get into the

three short-listed European cities for the title of European Youth Capital.

HUNGARY, Budapest – FDE

FDE is an umbrella organisation for student organisations in higher education in Hungary, operating in a non-profit and non-political working format.

Trough its member organisations, FDE is represented at almost every major higher education institution in Hungary, in the fields of engineering, economics, medicine, law and natural sciences.The goal of the organisation is to support student organisations in their

professional activities, to increase the efficiency of their operations, to represent them and to develop the abilities of youth leaders and youth workers, their skills, and professional knowledge.

EXPERIENCE

One of FDE’s main activities is providing regular training courses for NGO leaders and youth workers

ITALY, Cinisi - Associazione Photofficine Onlus

The Associazione Photofficine Onlus was established on 28 March 2008 by a group of young graduates and professionals, after participating in the competition notice "Young ideas to change Italy" organized by the Department of Youth and Sports Activities (POGAS), now Minister of Youth, with the project "Photofficine".

The association describes as a social-educational service which aims to promote greater awareness of teenagers to the realities in which they live through the medium of visual communication. In particular, it gives ample space to knowledge of new technologies and the different opportunities of expression and / or education related to them. The young people involved are invited to develop concrete communication projects in fields ranging from journalism to documentary graphics, music publishing, new media from photography, through the activation of workshops led by experienced operators with the aim to document with photos and Video discomfort and alienation of a degraded urban center. Moving from the consideration that urban areas are at risk youth through the isolation and lack of aggregative centres, Photofficine wants to be a structure that is proposed as a space where you can experiment with their creativity through the image.

The main objective is to provide adolescents with a space for reflection and research on visual communication and awareness to the reality of local communities.Through a social-educational work on the image means:

Facilitate the participation of adolescents in the activities of the city; Collaborate and facilitate the implementation of their projects; To promote their cultural productions (photography, video reports); To publicize the tools and spaces that can be used; Encourage the youth associative life.

The interventions of "media education society" proposed are aimed at testing the creativity of young people across the image which is the '"essence" Representative of thought and language.

EXPERIENCE

The Association Photofficine has not to date implemented projects of Erasmus +, but has already participated in European programs such as Daphne III with an project of online support for young people self-harming, which provided the training exchange between all participating European associations aimed at the development and sharing of best practices.

LATVIA, Riga - Human People to People in Latvia

Human People to People in Latvia has worked with global education projects since 2006, with an increased focus on these activities in 2009 when it became a board member of the national development NGDO network (LAPAS) in Latvia. Humana People to People Latvia is implementing projects in different regions across Latvia. The main target groups are youngsters, teachers and pupils in schools. HPPL has developed educational projects in cooperation with NGOs from Caucasus.

EXPERIENCE

HPPL is working with schools in order to give brother perspective to youngters and teachers that they can see their role in global pictures – find links between local and global and increase their capacity to develop their own initiatives. HPPL is currently is working with following school projects:

Solidarity Schools in the Baltic States. The objective of this EC - funded project is to raise awareness of the MDGs and development issues and through knowledge, to create an enabling environment for solidarity and engagement.

Global Teachers Award. The overall aim of this EC-funded action is to raise the profile and quality of development education provision in the European Union. Project is reaching the goal by offering national development education teacher training programmes in four countries.

Sustainable fashion doTalk. HPPL organised regular “fashion doTalk” workshops, which were

aimed at educating and actively engaging youth in creating stylish sustainable design clothing from reused or second hand clothing.

LITHUANIA, Kaunas - Ateitis

Ateitis federation is the oldest youth organizaton in Lithuania. The main five principles, which is the core of activities in this NGO are as follow: Catholicism, intellectual growth, family values, patriotism and social responsibility. This NGO is active in the public life as well as in high schools, universities and parishes. Ateitis federation organize the academies for teenagers, summer camps and other gatherings for pupils, various events for students and families. Young people have many opportunities to express themselves and grow as well-rounded personatilies through the means of non formal education

during the events organized by Ateitis federation.

EXPERIENCE

Being one of three biggest youth NGOs in Lithuania (more than 3000 members), Ateitis federation has many ongoing projects all of which requires timely and high-quality management. Good communication (both internal and external) and PR skills is vital for organizations like this because its future rests on ability to communicate effectively in order to provide organization with new members to change the generations that grow up and leave the youth category. As it has been noted above Ateitis federation seeks to be actively seen in a public life of Lithuania. Ateitis federation has a goal to influence public life in Lithuania to make it more youth friendly and future-oriented having as a model 5 principles of Ateitis federation. This goal is impossible to achieve without proper use of new technologies or without appropriate skills of communication and public relations.

Ateitis federation has always tried to be on the cutting edge of technologies among youth NGO in Lithuania. It was early 90’s when the first Macintosh computers had been begun to use. The attitude to use whatever is useful and new persists till this day. Ateitis federation is active in social media, blogging, uses new technologies both for spread of news, registrations to events but also for fundraising activities. Because this NGO has many departments throughout the Lithuania lots of communication takes place via the internet thus making Ateitis federation sort of a digital herd.

External communication and PR skills have been tested many times in Ateitis federation. Most seen event was an art-related protest next to National Drama Theater in 2012 which gathered a lot of publicity.

MACEDONIA - Youth Can

Youth Can is a non-governmental, non-profit and independent civil association which aims to empower young people to take active participation in the development of a democratic society trough active citizenship and social activism. The organization was founded by young people and for young people as to share the idea of the power of youth as catalysts in today’s society.

Being founded in 2009, we have been managing to grow as an organization and provide structure and space for young people to learn and develop themselves personally and professionally in to critical thinkers and proactive citizens of their community.Today we count more than 400 young members from variety of ethnic and social backgrounds coming from all over Macedonia, showing in our everyday efforts and activities that YOUTH CAN!

Our mission is to empower young people to take active participation in the development of their own community trough social and youth activism as a powerful tool to change and respond to their own or the needs of the community. Youth Can’s mission is to:

Initiate personal development of young people through youth work and non-formal education

Raise awareness of young people about active citizenship as powerful tool to influence social development

Give opportunities to young people to realize youth initiatives and creatively express their opinions and attitudes

Promote the rights and liberties of young people (youth mobility and intercultural understanding)

EXPERIENCE

Youth Can regularly conducts trainings among its members on the field of Project management, communication skills and event management. In 2013 we conducted 5 trainings on these topic targeting our members.

Moreover our last project is in the field of social entrepreneurship where we utilize new technology for creating better social services. Also in 2013 for the International Volunteer Day we conducted an awareness raising campaign for promoting the volunteering values. Last but not least within our organization we have a special team for communication which takes care of organization visibility strategy.

POLAND, Wrocław – Wrocław Youth Club

The Wrocław Youth Club Association is setting up for young people operating in Wrocław and Lower Silesia. We are a group of people really sensitive to current social problems. Our aim is to inspire youngsters in a sense of being active European citizen. We focus on building solidarity and tolerance between nationality, gender or any other differences. We are fighting against xenophobia same time inspiring youth to intercultural education. We constitute to an

association that aims for the development of the mind and talent among the youth - joining inspiration, passion and fun. What we want to do is to expand our experience, gain knowledge and get satisfaction.

Dedication to our activity allowed us to be fully conscious of profitability of the investment in ourselves. Activities at the level of international collaboration greatly broadens horizons and allows us to create new projects. Our Organization is a place that allows young people to strive to achieve the objective of a variety of paths. They are taking part in the project and at the same time creating it. We focus on the leisure-time organization they for youth groups, providing valuable moments which are prepared by experts- also young people. We also intend to present and promote Polish culture all over the Europe. While maintaining its individuality and thus not to sink into oblivion.

We aim to raise local and European awareness and to create chances for personal growth and development of all human beings. What is more, to prevent social exclusion, stimulate entrepreneurship, build respect and try to base it on fun. That is our goal!

EXPERIENCE

Social Map of our local surroundings at the beginning – Europe at the end: - During our meeting each participant get the knowledge how to observe his local surroundings, how to take result oriented actions in his local surrounding and how to reach European dimension within the Youth in Action Program activates. During the training it was presented how to run a self-organized project of making a position of Social Brand Manager in your organization. We decided to do this project because we think that the knowledge about Social Map and researches is very low and after this project we do many more valuable interrelation actions based on tools presented on our project.

ROMANIA, Bucuresti – Young Initiative Association

The Young Initiative Association is a Romanian nongovernmental, non-profit organization that organizes and promotes projects in the fields of youth and education.

Our main focus group are children and young adults, as they are the future leaders of our world and need to

have a proper education, a proper status in society and the moral values they need to succeed in life.

Our mission is to contribute to young people`s personal and professional development and to their education, so they can shape a career matched to their true potential. More than 70 volunteers are currently contributing to this mission.

EXPERIENCE

Our Association is working with young people (students, graduates, young professionals) and

with abused and abandoned children from Bucharest, providing them with educational services that help them overcome some of their problems and challenges compared to normal children of their age. Our volunteers organise 3-4 educational workshops every week for these children.

Our youth projects include BiblioLounge (a library space dedicated to youth leisure which is also offered for free to NGO`s who need space for free trainings, workshops and other events), Blogunteer (a national volunteering collective blog which tells the story of volunteers and of NGO`s from Romania), various trainings and workshops and also international projects, including EVS.

We are also organizing the Knowledge Builders EVS project, hosting 6 volunteers for 8 months in Bucharest, Romania. The volunteers are supporting the Association`s projects and are also developing new activities, including direct youth work.

With the support of a Youth in Action project, we have launched a European online network of leadership and human resources good practices sharing for NGO`s called HR Twinning (www.hrtwinning.eu).

We are currently members of the VOLUM Federation (one of the largest Romanian federations of non-profit organisations who are promoting volunteering in the country) and of the "Acting Responsibly!" CSR Social Network (a federation that groups NGO`s, companies and public bodies in order to promote CSR activities). In 2013 we became a founding member of FEDI (European Forum for Diversity and Interculturality), where we are also a Board Member.

SLOVAKIA, Bratyslavia - Mladiinfo Slovensko

Mladiinfo Slovensko was established by former EVS volunteers in 2010. It is a non-profit organization promoting education and youth mobility. Mladiinfo supports students and young people with information about EU programmes, different scholarships,

internships, conferences and volunteering opportunities abroad but also in Slovakia. Internet is used as the main tool to spread calls and motivate to participate.

All information can be found on the web site www.mladiinfo.sk and social media profiles. Mladiinfo has office in Bratislava, the capital and the biggest city in Slovakia. The office is located in Mlynska dolina, which is the largest complex of student dormitories in Slovakia with almost 10.000 students living here. With international partners all around Europe Mladiinfo is experienced and one of the most active EVS sending organization in Slovakia.

EXPERIENCE

Last year Mladiinfo has sent 36 EVS volunteers abroad to 9 countries and 24 participants for

youth exchanges and training around Europe. Mladiinfo has a well-organized participant’s selection process with focus on meeting the organizer need and participants needs. With strong connections to other youth organization in Bratislava and Slovakia, Mladiinfo help to develop youth workers skills and international contacts with offering participation in valuable projects like this one. Depending on the projects, Mladiinfo try to include in projects various young people – experienced young activists together with less experience in international projects or from rural areas of Slovakia.

SPAIN, Malaga – AIGU - Asociacion de Igualdad de Genero Universitaria

The organization works with young people in order to solve gender problems. Our objectives are focus on psychological investigation; anti sexist training for both sex; an increasing awareness of unfair situations, promoting the participation in our activities and maintaining our commitment to share our experiences. Our aim is to stop inequalities been sex, teaching how negative this situation is for all of us, and

consequently, to improve the quality of life of the people of Malaga.

We plan activities over the year, and our actions are focus on training courses, conferences and psychological orientation. Also, AIGU is always aware of national campaigns, such as HIV, Violence Against Women or specific training courses for young people.

AIGU activities are developed at the University, preparing courses for the students but also for lecturers because we are convinced that education is essential for a real conscience change. Besides that, action at schools and high school centrers is fundamental to engaged future generations in promoting an equal society. We also work with other organizations.

EXPERIENCE

We have experienced in local projects, training youngers about empowerment, violence against women and discrimination.
