Schedule of Follows- up for NFP Users( OM , SDM)

MODEL Initial Instruction ( FOS) Follow Instructions

1st Cycle ( Weekly ) – 1st, 2nd, 3rd , 4th follow up or HES I

2nd Cycle ( Bi- Monthly) – 5th & 6th + HES II3rd Cycle – ( Bi- Monthly) – 7th + CES I

The Key Contents 0f Each Scheduled Follows-up

1st Week Follow-upa) Ask how the client made the observations.

b) Correct mistakes accordingly.

c) Determine the accuracy of recordings.

d) Ask the husband’s feelings on the wife’s learning method.

e) Encourage the client to continue her observations and

recordings.

f) Schedule the 2nd follow -up

g) Continue abstinence.

2nd Week Follow-up

a) Check if the proper way of observing and recording has been done.b) Check if the corrections from the previous week has been done.c) Identification of dry days occurrence after menstruation.d) The “x “ mark.

…e) Changes in the type of mucus being observed.f) Define “peak day”.g) Progression of the couple’s acceptanceh) continuation of abstinence.i) 3rd follow-up.

3rd Week Follow-up

a) Identification of pre- and ovulatory phases.b) Identification of the peak day and the three (3) post peak days.c) Correctly identify the peak and post peak days.d) Identify the post-ovulatory phase.e) The availability of sexual intercourse during

… the post-ovulatory phase.

f) The probability of long cycle ( if no peak day and post peak days identified)g) if that’s the case, no post-ovulatory phase has been identifiedh) Continue requiring abstinence.i) Schedule the 4th follow-up after a week.j) Review the definition of short,long and average

cycle.

4th Week Follow-up

a) Checking if there’s any sexual intercourse.b) Progress of chartingc) Review the patient’s chart.d) Identification of post-ovulatory period.e) Explain the possibility of sexual intercourse during the post- ovulatory period.f) Schedule the next visit two (2) weeks after menstruation.g) Register as NEW ACCEPTOR ( Learning User)

HUSBAND’S EDUCATION SESSION

Scope:a) Utilization of his partner’s chart in

understanding the:- joint fertility- fertile & infertile phases

b) Explain the anatomy of selfhood.c) Some gains and pains in learning the

NFP.

5th & 6th Follow-upa) Identification of pre- ovulatory phase.b) Identification of the peak day.c) Identification of ovulatory phase.d) The Early Day Rule ( EDR).- EDR- alternate evenings of lovemaking on

dry days following menstruation.e) Explain why it is “ alternate” why on evening

only. (EDR).f) Ask the client to state or how they identified the

6th & 7th Follow-up

Identify:1. The phases.2. Timing of lovemaking based on the chart.3. EDR on average & long cycle.4. Lovemaking beside those marked with 5. ..& identify in what phase.6. Ask the client to state the method rules

for the post ovulatory period determined by identifying:

peak day Three-day post peak ( on the 4th day,

lovemaking is available anytime, day and night).

Comparison between the present observation and the 1st two cycles, determine the cycle length.

Schedule the CES

Couple’s Education Sessiona) Recognize their NFP practice.b) The responsibility of the couple on NFP

practice. ( based on the implication of the fertile & infertile phase)
