Hands-On Practice

Once you have completed your eLearning courses and attended the classroom training sessions or webinars for your NCP certification subject area, you may find it helpful to practice some of the concepts you have learned in your NextGen test system. NCP Exam Guidelines You have 5 hours to complete each exam. At the end of 5 hours, if you are not done with the exam it will time out and score what you have completed. A passing grade of 80% or better is required for all tests.

NCP Certification Exams are intended to be a rigorous test of knowledge, and not for the casual user. The exams require study and preparation. The following guidelines should be followed when scheduling:

Exams must be requested at least 3 business days (72 hours) in advance of the desired test date.

You can only schedule one (1) individual exam per day.

You can only schedule one (1) attempt of any specific exam at a time. You may not schedule 3 attempts of the same test on different days. If you anticipate failing an exam, you should spend additional time preparing for the test and schedule only when you are ready.

If you do not pass an exam, you must wait 72 hours to take it again. This allows time to refer back to notes and materials and better prepare for the next attempt.

Registration requests that do not adhere to these guidelines will not be scheduled.

NextGen Clients must register for a NextGen Client account on the NextGen website before an NCP certificate can be processed and sent. Please refer to “Registering for CSC” on page 12 of this document for instructions on setting up an account.
