Next Steps for Credential CandidatesOnce a credential candidate is approved by the National Leadership and Resource Center of the Assemblies of God, the Iowa Ministry Network will receive the candidate’s letter of congratulation from the General Secretary of the Assemblies of God, a credential card verifying the level of credential, a credential certificate, and information concerning a minister’s financial support to the General Council. The Iowa Ministry Network will forward the letter of congratulation, the credential card, and a copy of the credential certificate and information concerning financial support to the General Council.

A minister’s financial support to both the Iowa Ministry Network and the General Council start according to the date on the credential certificate. That date is usually the date of the credential candidate’s presbyter interview.

Once a credential candidate receives his or her minister’s card, he or she has the privilege of being a fully credentialed minister. However, the credential candidate and spouse are required to attend the Ordination Service during the next District Council (April 29, 2014). The candidate will be awarded his or her credential certificate during the evening Ordination Service. The candidate will receive a letter prior to the District Council stating the date, time, location, and proper attire for the special occasion.

Individuals receiving credential reinstatements will receive forms of certification, but do not participate in the Ordination Service.

Financial SupportAccording to Resolution Two passed at the 2005 District Council, the minimum monthly dues required of credentialed ministers and for the renewal of credentials effective May 5, 2005:

Ordained @ $10/month = $120 per yearLicensed@ $5/month = $60 per yearCertified Minister @ $5/month = $60 per year

Minister’s Support of General Council:Ordained @ $25/month = $300 per yearLicensed@ $20/month = $240 per yearCertified Minister @ $15/month = $120 per year

Due to the number of credential candidates, we need to be sure that everything runs very smoothly and according to schedule.

The light meal is optional; we just want to be as much help to you during this busy evening as we can. We just ask that you let us know so that we can plan accordingly.

The other three events are not optional. Please be sure you are where you need to be at the appointed time. For this event, men should wear a dark suit and tie and ladies should wear nice dresses or skirts. Child care is available from 4:45 PM through the evening service for our credential candidates, but we do need to know your needs in this area.
