In April 2017, construction at the Josef gas facility in Concord was completed. We expanded and modernized our showroom and parts counter, refaced the exterior and yard area, and expanded the size of our warehouse for our new industrial gas filling plant - the most modern filling plant for industrial gases in the GTA.

When Joe Stangl started Unitec in 1969, he had one goal in mind – to provide the best quality welding products and solutions to his customers in an efficient, friendly manner.

In 2017, Joe, and his son Richard are doing it again with Josef Gas. We are truly THE hands on industrial gas supplier! Joe and Richard’s relationships with customers and suppliers alike span decades and at Josef Gas we are proud to continue those relationships by being a fully Authorized Distributor for the top brands in welding such as Lincoln,

Miller, Victor, and ESAB, J Walter, Fibremetal, 3M, Harris, and Avesta among others.

Our new home is a 3 acre facility at 201 Basaltic Rd in Concord. It is here where our industrial gases, propane and welding equipment are all processed. It’s also the place where we maintain our 15 delivery trucks, 10,000 industrial gas cylinders and the largest single storage propane tank facility in the GTA.

High Tech Fill Plant The Josef gas fill plant is a mix of high tech hardware and computer technology that lets us manufacture our gases on site to the highest spec possible.

Argon, Oxygen, Nitrogen, CO2, Helium 2 part, 3 part and even 4 part welding mixes are filled with speed and ease. The over head filling manifolds look good and provide for a safe and efficient filling area.

High Capacity Filling Our fill plant has the capacity to fill all cylinder sizes, small, medium, large and even extra high capacity cylinders up to 4500psi! Larger gas users can take advantage of our bulk pack and cryogenic cylinder filling system that utilizes high capacity computer controlled weigh scales to ensure consistency.

The Pinnacle of Filling Accuracy Filling our gases by weight – as opposed to the more common pressure/temperature method - not only ensures our customers receive a gas bottle filled to capacity each and every time, it also guarantees them that the welding gas mixture they received last week is identical to the one they received today. This is extremely important to welding shops that are working under CWB welding procedures.
