l Honda silently discontinued the big hatch, Jazz from its portfolio after it got busy with the launch of its entry-level sedan, Amaze.

l Discontinuation of one of the highest selling global cars from one of the largest automobile markets like India simply meant that there was something better waiting.

l Honda recently has unveiled images of the 2014 Jazz, which is known as Fit in US market, and this new car has grown both in size and performance.

l The new Honda Jazz, basically a global offering from Japanese marque, has grown by about 50 mm in wheelbase and the sides of the car now have bolder character lines extending till tail light to give a stunning look.

l The tailgate is decorated with chrome garnish which upholds the brand logo. The rear bumper too is stylishly designed to look more dynamic compared to older version of the car. The company says that the new car has been benchmarked against Volkswagen Polo.

l The suspensions of the car have been modified to impart more confidence in the driver through a low-height driving position. Overall design also aids for better driving control in corners and at high-speeds.

l Coming to the powertrain, the Indian version of Honda Jazz is expected to have 1.5L diesel engine which is derived out of Earth Dreams technology of Honda. This fuel efficient engine has already been introduced to Indians through Honda Amaze.

l A 1.2L petrol motor, which is zippy in performance, may also be offered in the new car. Not many changes are seen in the design of dashboard however the seats may get new upholstery to induce dignity and comfortable feeling in interior space.

l Following the success of entry-level sedan, Amaze, an MPV is also expected from the Japanese house. The Brio based MPV may be unveiled at 2014 Delhi Auto Expo and may come on Indian roads along with new Jazz by mid-2014.
