Frontline Information

The information regarding pediatric diversion at Victoria General Hospitalwas confirmed via media article today. Adrian Dix reported that, "Due to theunanticipated short-term leave of one of the two surgeons providing pediatricgeneral surgery at Victoria General Hospital, the majority of Vancouver Islandpediatric patients requiring surgery will need to be transferred to BC Children’s’Hospital for care."

Multiple healthcare workers (5+) from Royal Jubilee hospital noted that thesituation is extremely difficult. It was noted that, "Worst it’s ever been. ICU isover capacity. Covid unit is full. ER is full with covid. Patients are oftenanti-vaccine and mask. People are refusing o2, leaving while positive. Drsso frustrated." This information was later confirmed by a physician working

within the covid ward at Royal Jubilee on the Facebook post citing it, via theschool tracker group.
