Hotel Indigo Lower East Side New York chosen as the hotel to represent significant IHG milestone – 5,000 hotelsacross 100 countries around the world.

It’s a day to celebrate across the Americas with the news that Hotel Indigo Lower East Side NewYork was named IHG’s 5,000  hotel globally.

“We are very proud that the Hotel Indigo Lower East Side New York is the company’s 5,000 property. Ourstrong growth in the Americas is a key factor in IHG’s increased momentum across the globe,” said ElieMaalouf, Chief Executive Officer, The Americas.

“We are well positioned to continue this growth across our brand portfolio, with a number of high profileproperties in the Americas pipeline, from InterContinental  hotels in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C., toa newbuild Crowne Plaza  hotel in Midtown Manhattan and a dualbranded EVEN  Hotels andStaybridge Suites  development in Seattle. We look forward to opening more hotels and bringing more ofour unique brand experiences to life for our guests,” he added.

The 293room Hotel Indigo Lower East Side New York opened in November as a flagship property.

To commemorate the 5,000  hotel milestone, IHG announced several other landmark hotel openings andsignings around the world that contributed to achieving this significant milestone as part of the ‘5,000 Club.’The list includes two additional hotels in the Americas:

EVEN HotelNew York –TimesSquareSouth, a150roomflagshipproperty inthe heart ofMidtownManhattan.It’s the thirdopening forthe brand inthe U.S. andthe first ofthree locatedin New York

City.

Hotel Van Zandt, a Kimpton Hotel in Austin, Texas. The 319room property is located in Austin’s RaineyStreet Historic District and marks Kimpton’s debut in the city. Its design is inspired by Austin’s worldrenowned music scene.

Alongside the ‘5,000 Club,’ several other openings in the Americas helped IHG reach this milestone,including the Holiday Inn Express Victoria  Colwood, B.C., Canada, and theStaybridge SuitesPuebla, Mexico.

The 80room newbuild Holiday Inn Express  hotel is the first to open in Canada with the brand’s newFormula Blue design solution.

The 129suite Staybridge Suites Puebla is IHG’s fifth Staybridge Suites  property in Mexico. As one ofvery few companies operating extended stay hotels in Mexico, IHG is well positioned to meet the new needfor extended stay lodging created by an increase in the country’s industrial development.
