Byline – This is where the name of the writer or publisher is printed or written on one part of the article. This is so the reader is aware of who wrote it for further enquiries or future references.

Date and Time - The date and time is given to give the reader the awareness on when the news was posted and when the situation or event may have occurred.

Pictures – Photos and images are used in articles to give the reader a visual idea of the scenario and helps them understand the situation more.

Location Links – website articles may give links to the locations that the situation took place so that the reader knows where the situation has occurred.

Social Sharing - On many website articles there will be links to share the stories on social networking site. This is because more people can be aware of the latest news and so readers can share the interesting things they read with others

Headline – The headline is to sum up the article and give the reader an idea or a thought of what the article is about or based around. This is important because the reader will be aware of what they are reading instead of reading something that they will not have interest in at the end.

Hyperlinks – hyperlinks are used to navigate people to different sites or to a certain page so the person can quickly and easily find what they are looking for.

Very short paragraphs – The way a newspaper is structured is with short paragraphs. This is for better organization and so the piece of text is broken down and more understandable to the reader.

Bigger spaces between paragraphs – There is a significant amount of space between each paragraph. This is so the reader finds it easier to navigate between sections.

No columns – There are no columns on an online newspaper article. This is because online, it is harder and takes more time scrolling up and down constantly therefore the structure is relatively different.

Comments section - this is a very convenient section where people can be interact with others and share opinions and thoughts that they may have.

Videos – there are many videos that are displayed on websites. This is helpful because it gives them a visual experience on the situation and also it helps the understanding of the situation much quicker.
