Initially I placed the main article image in the Photoshop document as I wanted to centre the creation of my front page around the main part which is the image, as it acts as a introduction to the main article aswell as gauging the theme of information portrayed through the newspaper.

The title was one of the most important parts of the front page of any newspaper, I wanted to conform to the conventions of a newspaper title, which is usually with serifs, hence I obeyed that traditional connotation, however I wanted my newspaper to also stand out whilst obeying the traditional conventions, hence I made the 'W' in the title, a larger font and also positioned it differently so it stayed inline with the title whilst clearly being outlined.

Today I continued to add detail into my main article on the front page, I made the first sentence bold to draw attention to the topic of the article, this means that straightaway they can decide whether or not they want to purchase or read this newspaper, this means that they do not have to skim through the first few pages of the newspaper to decided if it is worth a read. I also increase the size of the first word of the article text, it increase from size 12 to 24, this again is to make the reader notice the article and to increase the readership through eye catching initiatives.

I have started to add in my two advertisements at the bottom of the page; I will later add in the images as the background as I want to finish the main bulk of text before editing the images and making slight alterations to the layout of the text in comparison to the image sizes.

At this point, the only real construction which was happening was the article as this was the main bulk of work, this was the longest part of the completing of the front page as I had to watch my grammar, punctuation and spelling.

This is the finished result of the article, I used 4 columns to cover the story.

After completing the newspaper article, I segregated the topics using mini paragraphs, I found that this made the newspaper article look more professional aswell as making the article easier to read and understand.

Once I finished my article, I had some left over space and I added 3 new small picture as a ‘new story’ column, this was for the convenience of the reader as they could preview the article topics without flicking through the whole newspaper, from my research I found that online newspaper websites used a new story column, hence I wanted to incorporate this into my newspaper.

I then added the images to the two advertisements at the bottom for the page, both images I editing on Photoshop, I played around with the contrast levels, hue and the lighting. I had to change the colour of the text to make the text standout against the back drop of the images.

I then started on the advert banners underneath the title, I wanted the newspaper to appeal to both genders, so I advertised two very different adverts one for a male hairdressers and the other for a beauty parlour.
