BDSKILLS
On Jan 31st, 2015, LICT, BCC (Bangladesh Computer Council) launched two IT/ ITES skills Training Projects to create a pool of quality manpower, enhance employability, meet objectives of Digital Bangladesh and accelerate revenues through exports. These two projects meant for passing out graduates/ masters are ITES Foundation Skills Training Program (Non-IT/Engineering graduates, 160 hrs) and Top Up IT Training Program (CSE /Engineering graduates with programming background, 300 hrs). These projects are funded by The World Bank with Ernst & Young (EY) as implementation partner. The program calls for training of 10,000 Top Up and 20,000 Foundation Skills trained graduates over the next three years. These programs come free of cost to the students within their own university premises. The selection process involves online assessment test. The students are awarded the certificate from the Government after the successful completion of the training. Both the programs are being implemented in partnership with Universities and academic institutes in Bangladesh. At every stage of the project, the team works closely with the industry leaders and IT/ITES sector associations.
