Earth Charter in Business
Winter 2011
The aim of the Earth Charter in Business project is to use the Earth Charter to promote awareness and understanding in the business community of interconnected global issues - particularly climate change, sustainability and poverty - and encourage corporate and individual engagement and behaviour change.
Business and the Earth Charter Our project is concerned with global understanding and social responsibility within the business community - and the contribution of the Earth Charter. It is being conducted in partnership with CarbonSense in conjunction with Voice International.
We are working with a variety of companies, large and small, in many sectors and with the benefit of support from the Department for International Development.

Fair Trade Futures Business leaders from Bournemouth and Poole were introduced to the Earth Charter in March under the theme of Fair Trade Futures.
In October, they met again in the full glare of the next generation - to share progress, insights and future aims.
Pupils from Avonbourne and Portchester Schools responded with comments, judgements and awards.

Philosophy for Success Following a keynote at an Earth Charter Roundtable last year by Peter Head, Arup's former Chairman of Global Planning, a short film has been produced.
Peter sets out the challenges and opportunities that sustainability entails, describing the Earth Charter as a philosophy for success, a comprehensive strategy and a successful way forward for the human race.
