Welcome to the last newsletter of the year! As the year draws to a close it is a time to reflect upon our successes and take the time to celebrate the achievements of the year. As we continue our planning for the future it is also a time consider what we can improve and how Warrawong Public School help all students achieve their educational aspirations.

I will have the great privilege of accompanying our Warrawong Way award winners on a special excursion to Wollongong where we will enjoy the beautiful landscape of Wollongong harbour and a delicious fish and chips by the beach.It is a great way to celebrate those students who have been Safe, Respectful and Responsible all year long.

This week will see the awarding of all of our achievement awards for the year.Our end of year formal presentation assembly will take place on Thursday morning.It would be fantastic to see all of our students in full school uniform a celebrating the achievements of themselves and their peers. It would also be fantastic to see the Warrawong Public school community family members at our assembly to show their support for all of the students in our school.The assembly will celebrate achievements throughout the year as well as reveal our school leaders for 2019, which is very exciting for everyone. I hope to see you all there.

Final week for year 6Next week will also see the final week of Primary school for our year 6 students.The year 6 farewell will take place on Tuesday and is always an emotional time for all of the students leaving and their teachers. As the teachers have been telling all of the year 6 students, the year 6 farewell is a once in a lifetime opportunity to celebrate the end of Primary school and the beginning of the journey through high school and into the teenage years.I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our year 6 students all the best for the future.

Farewell Mrs ThomasNext week we will also see the final week of Mrs Thomas at Warrawong Public school.After a stellar career inspiring future generations, Mrs Thomas has decided to retire from teaching after 32 years at Warrawong Public School. It is definitely the end of an era and most certainly will not be the same school without Mrs Thomas here. Please take the opportunity to farewell Mrs Thomas and congratulate her on a fine career, inspiring three decades of students at Warrawong Public school.
