This date is only for parents choosing to pay by Cash Parents paying by BPay do NOT need to come to the school on this day.

We STRONGLY encourage parents use the BPay option to

avoid long waiting periods.

Each family was issued information about the 2018 Book Pack and a letter stating their family Biller code and Reference Number. These unique numbers can be

used for all students in the family who attend SPS.

Message From The Principal

Whole School Celebration Well it wouldn’t be a Sunshine Primary School event if we didn’t have extreme weather. Despite the heat I hope all our families enjoyed the evening and various activities. It seems the sprinklers were the favourite of the night. I would also like to mention a special thank you to Sonia Fellowes our School Council President who has outdone herself by organising the jumping castles for the students. Make sure you say thank to Sonia when you see her. A big thank you to families who supported the BookFair. We managed to get over $350 worth of books donated to our school library.

Last night we held our Year 6 Graduation ceremony. I am extremely proud of our students and I am confident they will continue to develop into intelligent, articulate young adults. A particular mention and thank you to our School Captains: Damon Coupe, Blake Hudson, Kate Huynh and Eleni Karagiozis, who have done an outstanding job this year leading the school. I would also like to wish the families who are leaving Sunshine Primary all the very best for the future. Congratulations to the following students who received a Special Award at the Year 6 Graduation:

2018 Preparation Our staffing structure has been finalised for the 2018 school year. We say goodbye to Tammy Jones who commences Family Leave. We wish Tammy and her partner all the very best for the upcoming birth of their baby and we look forward to meeting the new addition to the family. Georgina Officer has accepted a position in Craigieburn. Both Tammy and Georgina have been valuable team members in the short time they were with us. Andrea Hennessey returns next year and we welcome three new staff members to the Sunshine team: Lucy Magnano, Rebekah Russell and Rebecca Wright. A full list of staff is listed below for 2018. Class lists have been finalised and all students met their 2018 teacher and classmates yesterday in an extended transition session.

Finally It has been another incredibly productive year with many achievements to be proud of. We have seen some wonderful results in our student achievement data as well as survey data in the opinion of students, parents and teachers. I am extremely proud of the changes our school has undergone and the achievements we are making. I very much look forward to continuing this work in 2018 and beyond. We remind parents to label their child/children’s jumpers, jackets, hats, etc….. Our lost property basket is growing by the day. Unfortunately, we are unable to return these items to the students as they have no names. On the last day of school all unclaimed uniform is washed and donated to the second hand uniform shop and non uniform items are donated to charity.

Due to hygiene reasons unclaimed Lunch boxes and water bottles will the disposed of.

Zoo Excursion Recounts

Yesterday me and the grade went to the Melbourne Zoo. First we had snack and then we looked at animals. We saw the lions sleeping and then we saw the baboon’s pink bums. Next we saw the seals and then we went to the butterfly house. Then we saw the ele-phants have water.

Yesterday P/1E went to the zoo. We saw orang-utans. We had snack before that.

We saw apes and frogs. Next we had lunch then we saw more animals. Last of all we went

on the bus back to school. I was sleeping on the bus. It was very funny.
