PJ Day

This Thursday is PJ Day to help year 6 raise funds for their end of year gift. Students may come to school wearing their pj’s and bring a gold coin donation.

Aboriginal Education Team

The next meeting of the Aboriginal Education Team is tomorrow afternoon at 3.30pm in the library. Parents and carers of Indigenous and non-indigenous students are invited to attend. There will be a representative from Awabakal Health to share information about what services can be accessed by Aboriginal families.

Stage 3 GATS Day

This Wednesday, 7 students from year 5 & 6 are headed to Thornton PS for the day to engage in Robotics workshops. All primary schools in the Gateway Learning Community will be participating in the day, which promises to be a lot of fun.

TIME TO ENROL FOR KINDERGARTEN 2018

Enrolments are now being taken for children starting kindergarten in 2018. You will need to provide your child’s original birth certificate and statement of complete immunisation from Medicare.

If you have any friends or neighbours who may have a child ready to start school next year, who are not part of our Joey’s program, please let them know it is time to contact the school for information.

JOEYS NEWS

The Joeys have been building positive relationships as they continue to make new friends each week. Last week the Joeys had a great time walking over to the school to purchase a gift for Fathers Day. Over the next few weeks we will be working on our cutting skills using scissors and exploring numbers from 10 and beyond. We look forward to another week of Joeys, see you all on Thursday.

SPORTS NEWS Year 6 Lawn Bowls This Friday will be the last session for the Year 6 Lawn Bowls Program at Hexham Bowling Club. We would like to thank Mr Carter and the other volunteers that have helped the students enjoy participating and improve their bowling ability. Good luck to the students that have been chosen to represent the school and bowl against other local primary schools next term.

Wakakirri DVD Orders If you would like to order a copy of the Wakakirri DVD, order forms are available from the office. The cost remains the same $39.50. Orders and money will need to be returned to the office by Friday 13th October. It’s a great keepsake.
