Northern Area would like to introduce the new Branch Support Officer for the north west, Laura Cort. Laura will be joining Stuart Gray in providing support and assistance for branches throughout the area. Laura has been an active volunteer for a number of years for the Multiple Sclerosis Society, helping with all aspects of charity work from welfare to event organising which she found extremely rewarding. Lauras father-in-law was an airframe technician deployed during the Suez crisis in Aden, and upon returning to the UK, was stationed at RAF Martlesham where he worked on the Fairey Delta 2. More recently her brother-in-law has just completed 13 years of service, starting as a telecommunications operator and left as a TG4 ICT tech- nician. He carried out tours in Iraq, Afghanistan and Qatar. Laura has seen first hand how charities such as The Royal Air Forces Associa- tion have helped her family through difficult times and she wants to be able to support the branches and Association to continue to provide help and support to the RAF family. She is very much looking forward to meeting and working with branches and their members in the future.
