INTRODUCTION

Dear reader,

While we are focused on supplying you with the best equipment possible, there are also a number of novelties in our product offering that we want to share with you. Most significant, of course, is the fact that we have taken steps outside of the harvesting arena and ventured into the application business. By diversifying into a business with a different economic cycle, we can utilize our core competencies more widely, spreading risk and working in a different seasonality. The same is true for our current product introduction, the Ploeger CM4240 Merger. We believe this also helps us developing more general innovations across the product lines, like FLEETCOMMAND to which you will also find some information in this newsletter.

To be able to keep up with demand for our different products, in Roosendaal the extension of the factory has started. At the time you will read this newsletter most likely the steel structures of the new building will be in place. Simultaneously significant improvements are implemented in the vegetable and corn product lines with introduction of, for example, the PMC GB7150 and the evolution of the Bourgoin B620 (B610) and the Bourgoin GR220 (GR10). I think you can see a lot is going on and we would like to share this with you.

The Ploeger CM4240 Merger offers an efficient and crop friendly way to put a suitable swath in front of your forage harvester, loaderwagon or bal-er. Picking the crop up before you ever drive over it and with the ability to create windrows with the right amount of silage in it, this machine does what a purpose built self-propelled machine should do, offer a significantly better solution to do a job than you could ever do with tractor based solutions.

Recent development of the 5 meter pick up units in cooperation with REITER have enabled us to de-velop new solutions both trailed and self-propelled to harvest silage more efficiently. The small diame-ter flexible pickup with the trailing tine configura-tion will minimize contamination of the harvested crop with dirt and rocks, likely improving, life of the chopper, the fermentation process in the bunker as well as the milk production.

At Bournezeau factory we have been manufacturing for many years our corn picker. The first series of the new Bourgoin B620 work this fall in the seedcorn harvest. With the introduction we want to offer our customers an improved machine incorporating new technologies. Changes to the machine include the use of the complete Claas Vista 2 cab and the 7” color touch screen for operating the machine. The power pack of the FPT engine, running at reduced engine rpm with new hydraulic system set-up.

We improved product handling with increased diameter cleaning fans and new style husking table with rubber husk rollers. The hopper filling belt features an optional progressive function to start filling an empty hopper gently and increasing speed during the filling for optimizing the use of the enlarged 12m3 hopper.

B620 7” COLOR TOUCH SCREEN FOR OPERATING THE MACHINE

During the process of producing seed-corn for farmers, some of our custom-ers are using small corn harvesters for research and multiplication. For this demand we had in the past the GR-10 harvester in our portfolio. This year we combined necessary updates and cus-tomer input to introduce the successor, the GR220. This new machine brings operator comfort with the new center

mounted cabin, touch screen computer in the cab enabling connection with our FLEETCOMMAND telematics system. Equipped with a stage V John Deere 4045 engine it collects the cobs in the 5m3 hopper with increased discharge height. Product handling improved with the standard belted conveyors and new style rubber rollers on the husking table.

BLUEBERRY HARVESTER

Out of our factory in Lynden (WA) / USA, we introduce to blueberry growers in Europe the new Oxbo 8140 harvester. This machine is based on the well known 8000 model, however it has 4 wheels instead of 3 and the tunnel is a bit larger to accommodate larger bushes. The machine comes standard with large flotation tires allowing this machine to perform under tough weather and soil conditions.

STORAGE LARGER TUNNEL

For many years we offer a mid-sized bean harvester in our group, initially built and known as model BH7100 and GB3300, we have combined forces to create the GB7133 a couple of years ago. This machine with articulating chassis has found its way in the world to pick high quality vegetables like green beans, snap peas and edamame for industry as well as fresh market.

Currently this machine, produced in Fakenham / UK location, comes with a stage V John Deere engine. Its operation interface with 7” touch screen linked to our FLEETCOMMAND telematics system make it easier to be operated by the driver, picking the finest quality product.

A FULL RANGE OF APPLICATORS

The range of nutrient applicators has been completed with the intro-duction of the AT5105 LNMS. The 5-wheeled manure injector will be on display at the Agritechnica. In nearly three years a full line of applica-tion machines has been developed, with focus on the ultimate driver experience, simplicity, power and efficiency of the operation.

In demanding conditions like when lifting potatoes with long and sturdy haulm, Ploeger introduces the option for a haulm deviner web on the bunker harvester.

With the introduction of the varioweb system a versatile cleaning configuration is available, enabling continuously variable adjustment of the axial roller system.

AR-4BX POTATO HARVESTER

Especially in a situation where multiple harvesters are working the same field, there is a need for remote control over the machine settings. With the FIELDCOMMAND app installed on your phone or tablet you can easily connect to the machine by wifi connection and monitor machines settings as well as change these settings. This functionality enables field managers to come to the right settings without disturbing the operation of the machine.

As a remote monitoring system FLEETCOMMAND will help companies to stay on top of the operation of their fleet, both from a technical perspective as from a operational perspective with this job based data system. As the machine sends data to a server, authorized people can access this data and monitor the machines.

From a technical perspective by monitoring alarms and events and looking directly into technical parameters on the machine. From an operational perspective it can be used to monitor progress on current jobs, or to analyze efficiencies over different jobs or a whole season. We are looking forward to interesting new developments in FLEETCOMMAND over the coming season!

Starting from 2019 model year, machines will be fitted with a new model pilot screen. The display comes with a higher resolution, offering better visibility in sunny conditions. Further the color scheme has changed, so information is easier to read, resulting in less fatigue.
