What makesher choose Korndor's Quartet? She writes: "Nikolai'smusic was the most emotionally intense music I'veheard, and it was also deeply logical. Architecturally,he could build to climactic points without the listenernecessarily knowing where he would end up. He hadtotal control of his material, but the journey through hismusic never feels like an intellectual exercise. "Hisstring quartet is a cathartic emotional journey. Writtenin the form of a requiem, it explores loss, redemptionand ecstasy." Korndorf's Quartet is a piece ofexceptional poignancy and intellectual power. Itsperformance will be a night to remember.
