PRINCIPAL’S REPORT Dear Parents and Carers
Welcome to the end of Term Three. We have had a busy and exciting term with the book fair, the
Yarrahapinni festival and the Mini Olympics just to name a few activities that the children have
participated in. They have also been doing plenty of practice for our Jump Rope for Heart which is on this
Thursday. Don’t forget to send in the sponsorship forms this week.
Our Guinea Pigs need a home for the holidays. They have their own hutch and food. If you would like to
look after our Guinea Pigs over the two week break please come and see me before Friday.
We are changing the day of our afternoon assemblies due to a change in our timetable. Short weekly
assemblies will now be on at 9:00 on Fridays in lines. These short assemblies will be to give out our weekly
merit award winners. Our big assemblies will still be on Week Five and Ten of term.
Have a happy and safe holiday everyone. See you back at school ready to learn on Monday 10th October.

4/5/6 CAMP 2016
Monday morning I was feeling as happy and buzzy as a bee. I went into the kitchen to thank my
amazing dad and step mum Nikki for paying for this adventure I was about to start. It was going to
be a one of a kind adventure camp.
When I arrived at school everybody was running around as excitedly as puppies. After we got to
camp and met all of our cabin mates we went out and got into our activity groups. We also met our
instructors. They all had smiles as big as the moon.
Our activities for Monday were Zorb ball and archery. On Tuesday we completed the commando
course and did canoeing on the beautiful river. In the afternoon we did fencing and I loved the sword
fight at the end of the session.
I was excited on Wednesday as it was my birthday and we did Sumo Zorb, mega drop and the giant
swing.
On Thursday we did ladder logs, Inner limits and the scary leap of faith. Lots of people were scared of
heights and were shaking like leaves in a storm.
Finally, on Friday last but not least were did circus skills. The food that Bruce the chef cooked over the
week was delicious.
Overall, the camp was amazing and I will have many happy memories for the rest of my life.

The Art and craft group have made masks and mini canvases through the week.
The first week we did masks and we got to do our own designs. All of the masks were great Mary was
helping us. Everyone had great ideas and everyone had a lot of fun. The people that were in the
group were Tanisha, Aila, Isaiah, Erin, Lilly, Taya, Joeli , Reece and Mathew.
The second week we started canvases and they were tiny but were awesome. We found designs on
the internet and everyone had great ideas
We all had fun in the last two weeks.

THE ART AND CRAFT REPORT
OFFICE
This term we have been involved in genius groups where we could choose an activity that we wanted
develop our skills in. We chose to go in the artists group to complete some paintings. We could paint
what we wanted.
Most Mondays and Fridays we do genius groups. It is common to see the art group outside painting
on our canvases. In the art group there is Amber, Zoe, Jessica, Aleesha and Eva and we all love it. We
all share a passion for painting and all the canvases look exquisite. The art group is super excited
about the art show in week 7 of term four to show off their excellent art works.

There is also a robotics group in genius hour. They have downloaded robot designs for the EV3 Lego
kits and have built robots from these designs.
Their next job is to try and program the robots to make them move. Harry has already got his robot
arm moving to pick up an object.
