Unfortunately this week, Tim has other responsibilities at representative level that means the Robotics class will not operate on Thursday 19th May. Tim will let the students know today, but could you make sure parents are aware also. Normal program will resume the following week. Athletics Carnival Success Congratulations to all students – Juniors and Seniors for your participation and efforts at our carnival. Thank you Mr Howe for organising the Juniors. Thank you Simone for organising the best ever Senior Carnival. Our participation in all events gave Laguna the chance of winning two trophies. Go Laguna! A big thank you to all Laguna parents for driving and helping at the carnival – your support lends to its success! P&C meeting postponement Our P&C meeting for this month will now be held on Thursday, 26 th May 9.30-11. All welcome. “What Works For You” Homework Meeting On Thursday 26 th May we are having a homework sharing session after school, at 3.45 in the Junior Room. The theme is ‘What Works For You’, and is an opportunity for parents to share any tips and strategies when it comes to encouraging children at home. Please see Mr Howe or Mrs Shaunessy if you plan to come along. Recorders Students are learning recorder with Mrs Baker each Tuesday. Parents could you please ensure your child has their recorder with them on Tuesdays. Thank you Mrs Baker for the lessons. This year Laguna School aims to engage all students in music with marimbas and recorders. Science Show On Tuesday 31 st May we will be hosting two science shows from Fizzics Education. The first show caters for our Junior students. Pre-schoolers have also been invited to this show, which runs from 10.00-11.00. After a break for recess, there will be a show for the Senior Students, running from 11.30-12.30. Leave I will be on leave for a short time and Mr Howe will be relieving Principal. Simone and Mr Howe will teach the Senior class. The Junior class will follow its usual routine with Mr Howe and Mrs Shaunessy. Year 6 Jerseys The 2011 Year 6 jerseys are ready to be ordered. Payment is required before the order can be placed. The cost of the jersey is $40 each, please pay Veronica or Mr Howe. The faster the money is received, the quicker the students can have and wear their jerseys! PTO

P&C meeting Thursday, 26/5/11

After School Activities Next Tuesday at John Forsyths oval from 3:30pm for soccer. Zone Cross Country Thanks to those children who competed at the zone cross country and gave 100%: Harry, Ruby, Tom, Abbi, Grace, James, Rhys, Audrey. Year 6 Mini Lessons Year 6 have been invited to attend mini lessons at Mount View High School on Tuesday 25th May as part of their orientation for high school. Lessons will run from 8:40am to 11:30am. Students can catch the high school bus to Mount View which departs Laguna Shop at 7:15am. Parents will need to pick up their children at 11:30am and return them to Laguna for the rest of the days lessons.
