It's Monday morning, the school bells ring: Your veritable alarm system goes off at 08.55am warning you that you had better be in class or else face unimaginable torment. Quickly and quite without breath you get to class just before the second slot of bells go off, which would signal that you are late. Sweating profusely you take out your notebooks at the sound of your tutor's voice. “Good morning class, happy Monday!!! Today we will be looking at enzymes, following on from last week. We will be looking, in particular at active sites....At this you groan inwardly, wanting to cry out in desperation... last week's class was boring, you fell asleep and were sent to detention and given a final warning.... anymore slip ups like sleeping in class will result in a formal hearing. So with a deep sigh, grim determination and not a bit of enthusiasm you jump into what is considered to be the most boring topic... EVER! I'm sure this was the reaction that came from many of us in science class on any day of the week. Enzymes, keys and locks, substrate products and active sites. What meaningless torture!!! I am certain I was in that boat too…...until one day divine revelation intervened and allowed me to see the treasure that lay in this theory. Remember Genesis 1:2, 'And the earth was without form and void and darkness covered the face of the deep. And the Spirit of the Lord moved upon the face of the deep.” Then a loud booming voice was heard... “Let there be light”... and just like that there was light. Amazing! In my mind’s eye I could see it: The substrate approaching the enzyme, looking to bind at the active site and voila! The product is made. That became my first major revelation concerning the Holy Spirit. In my limited understanding, it became clear to me that without the presence of the Holy Spirit there is no active site. In other words, if the Word had come without the presence of the Spirit there would not have been a manifestation. Awesome! Also amazing is that in that same passage, in the first verse, it is stated that in the beginning God... which is Elohim in the Hebrew - a word that indicates the Trinity - created the heavens and the earth. Deeper meditation on this section of scripture has revealed to many theologians and Christians alike that creation was the work of the Trinity- Father, Son and Holy. We see in the following verse that the Holy Spirit was functional in the formation of the created world, as He hovered over the face of the deep. We are therefore introduced to the Holy Spirit right at the beginning in Genesis; We see that He is the third member of the Godhead; We see that He was instrumental in the creation of the world. All this goes to show that He is indeed the most important person on earth in this dispensation as Myles Munroe once stated. The book of Joel 2:28 states that in the last days God will pour out His Spirit upon all flesh. Why did God promise to pour Him out upon all flesh? What is the purpose of this outpouring? To really know the answer to the answer, we must first understand the nature of the Holy Spirit. This is the journey we are taking this season as a church. Join us as we explore the Person, the workings and the wonder of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit The Most Important Person on Earth

In Acts 2:38 Peter said to the people that had gathered around them “Repent, and be baptised every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” Okay, another dimension of knowledge. The Holy Ghost or Spirit is a gift. A gift, an eternal gift, often referred to as a promise. In the last chapter of Luke, in the forty-ninth verse Jesus told his disciples to tarry in Jerusalem awaiting the promise from the Father. In the

foremost regions of the book of Acts, Jesus parting words stated they would be baptised with the Holy Ghost and so they would receive power. This was a declaration made by Jesus, of which no man had any deciding factor in. The Godhead declared and no man could refute it. Therefore as they obeyed and remained in Jerusalem, tarried in the upper room of their wee house God sent them a gift, the gift that was the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:1-4) A gift is that which is freely given. The Holy Spirit was freely given to men, a gift. Upon further research God revealed that this had been in the plan from ages past, in the records of the prophet Joel, God revealed that in the last days He would pour out His Spirit upon all flesh (Joel 2:28). The question that is then aroused in us is, what is the importance of the Holy Spirit in this time? Well to find out the answer to this join us this season as we journey through the Word with the Holy Spirit to find out, just why He is here and to learn more about who He really is.

The Last Word

Community Fellowship Groups (CFGs) Report from North Belfast Wednesday evening, around 6.20pm.

Outside, the sun is setting rapidly and everyone is slowly walking home to relax after a long hard day. Others going home to prepare for a midweek night out whilst at the same time mothers and fathers are probably looking to attend one or two recitals or school events on behalf of their children. In this cluster of persons there are a chosen few that are moving towards a midweek fellowship meeting in North Belfast. The buzzer goes off piously over a period of twenty minutes signalling the arrival of each of the fellowship members. Hearty greetings and smiles and cups of tea mark the start of the fellowship. At 6.35pm we begin with praise & worship, simply worshipping and adoring the God that has brought us thus far. Over the past few months we have formed a strong bond of friendship and relationship

and we have come to realize that this friendship permeates even into our time of singing and worship. Beside the fellowship in itself - the gathering of different people, of different backgrounds, ages, mindsets and personalities- there has been a gathering of the Word. John chapter one was where we set off, looking to the beginning. According

to this marvelous passage “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God, then the Word became flesh and dwelt among us” The depth of this revelation shook out any form of doubt that may have been in us about the Sovereignty of God the Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Every week from then on brought with it new revelations, and our united testimony was that our mindsets that were so different when we first met were slowly but surely being patterned and shaped into a new mindset which was not of us but of Jesus Christ.

In our fifth week of study, we encountered the woman at the well, who encountered Jesus. Having made bad choices all her life, fallen into the worst imaginable circumstances for a woman in her time; she lived the life of an outcast. Separated from everyone about her, maybe because of scorn and the judgmental way people looked at her. She went to a well one day and met the Saviour. Defensive about her life and her position she tried her hardest to hide herself from Jesus, but Jesus knew everything. He knew where she was coming from, knew where she was hurting and more than anything had a solution for her, right where it was needed. Jesus found her and dealt with her problem just as he does with us everyday, as we search the scriptures; everyday as we surrender ourselves to Him; and everyday as we live in fellowship with other believers. Each of us, in our fellowship, has received a newness of life that is only the result of encountering the life changing Word of God. Furthermore, we have become a family, in fellowship: we have learnt to share our lives with each other, whether in testimony or in prayer. We have become dependent on each other and every day we grow stronger and stronger and we sincerely believe the scripture that states, 'one shall chase a thousand and two shall put ten thousand to flight.' Our communal suggestion is that if you are not already in a house fellowship, consider joining

one because only then will you see how life changing this experience can be. God Bless you as you seek Him. North Belfast Fellowship Sindile Moyo

But you will receive power

when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem,

and in all Judea and Samaria,

and to the ends of the earth.

– Acts 1:8

On a Lighter Note… CHURCH DONATION & INLAND REVENUE Father O’Malley answers the phone, “Hello is this Father O’Malley?” ‘It is’ “This is the Inland Revenue. Do you know a Ted Houlan?” ‘I do’ “Is he a member of your congregation?” ‘He is’ “Did he donate $10 000 to the church?” ‘He will’ CHRISTIAN LION A Baptist missionary was walking in Africa when he heard the ominous padding of a lion behind him. "Oh Lord," prayed the missionary, "Grant in Thy goodness that the lion walking behind me is a good Christian lion." And then, in the silence that followed, the missionary heard the lion praying too: "Oh Lord," he prayed, "I thank Thee for the food which I am about to receive."
