William Wheeler presented the class scripture and Rebecca Earle shared a special challenge and prayer for the classes of 2012 and 2013. Principal Steve Zeal also reflected on the accomplishments of this year’s senior class and gave a charge to the junior class as they prepare to take on the mantle of leadership in 2013. In keeping with Woodlands Christian tradition, the senior class “passed the torch” to the junior class signifying the passing of leadership from the class of 2012 to the class of 2013.

Senior Chapel 2012

Writer’s Cafe

Students in Mrs. Hudnall’s and Mrs. Ledbetter’s fourth grade classes served up delectable writing samples at the Writer’s Cafe held on Friday, May 4. Dressed as waiters, the students presented a menu of four courses to their guests. They then served each course by reading aloud their three favorite writing pieces. Dessert consisted of their Student Treasure books, a compilation of their writings and illustrations. All who attended the Writer’s Cafe gave it a five diamond rating!

Woodlands Christian Lower School Presents

Make plans now to attend A Night of Music and Celebration featuring performances by lower school students in Pre-K through 5th grades with a special appearance by the 6th grade choir.

All families will receive four (4) tickets, which will be sent home in Tuesday folders on May 15th. Additional ticket requests will be granted on a first come first served basis. To request additional tickets or to return unneeded tickets, please click here and follow the directions on the online form.

Warrior Baseball Season Ends

After advancing to the regional round of the TAPPS 3A state playoffs for the seventh consecutive year, The Woodlands Christian Academy varsity baseball team fell to the Guard of Bullard Brook Hill by a score of 4-0 on Thursday, May 10 in Waco, Texas. The contest went to extra innings after remaining scoreless for seven with the Guard scoring four runs in the eighth inning to end the game.

What an amazing varsity track season! Of the 34 events in which the boys and girls competed this year, we set new school records in 20 of them! The team and the entire track program grew and competed well this season. At the TAPPS 3A state track meet last weekend at Baylor, Woodlands Christian competed with 47 other teams from across Texas. Our boys’ team finished in 6th place and our girls’ team finished in 7th place. Fifteen athletes competed in 18 separate events, the largest contingent of state qualifiers we have ever taken to the state meet (see photo below right).

Courtney Williams has been named to the Texas Tech University all girl cheerleading squad. Williams competed with 49 other girls to earn a spot on the 14 member team. She was one of seven freshmen selected. In addition to her place as a Red Raider cheerleader, Williams will receive a $1,000 scholarship.

Warrior Cheerleader Named To Texas Tech Cheer Team

Strykers Offer Special Ticket Packages For Opening Weekend

As part of the five year lease agreement with the Woodlands Strykers baseball team, the Warrior baseball complex is getting a facelift. The Strykers organization is installing chair-back and grandstand seating (see photos below) in anticipation of their season opener on June 1, 2012. To celebrate their opening weekend, the Strykers are offering a special three game ticket package to Woodlands Christian families. General admission tickets for all three opening weekend games (June 1-3) are now available for $15. In addition, the Strykers are offering special $135 pricing on general admission season tickets. The opening weekend ticket package and season ticket order forms are available at the front reception desk.

The team is scheduled to play 30 regular season home games. All games are scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. The Strykers are members of Texas

Collegiate League Baseball which offers minor league style baseball featuring college athletes from around the country. The teams use wooden bats providing the players and fans with minor league quality baseball games in a hometown setting. Some of our very own Woodlands Christian graduates, Martin Cronin (2011), Garrett Lozano

(2011) and Travis Winnon (2011) will play for the Strykers. For more information about the Woodlands Strykers, click here.

A Word From The Library....

On Tuesday, May 15th, the Library will hold its spring Birthday Book Club Party for members with birthdays in January - June.

Thanks to your generosity, the library was able to raise $1,640 for new books! What a meaningful way to honor your child’s birthday!

All materials are now due to the Library. Overdue notices will be sent home shortly. If you cannot find your books, please pay the amount

listed on the overdue notice. Report cards will not be issued until all accounts are cleared with the Library. Thank you!

Warrior Camp is right around the corner! At the Warrior Camp preview event, 81 kids enjoyed fun and games, and got a chance to

sample the fun planned for Warrior Camp this summer!

If you are looking for a safe, fun, educational and stimulating time for your children Warrior Camp is just the thing! Campers may attend for one week, any combination of weeks or all summer!

Warrior Camp is a community-wide Christian day camp forstudents who have completed kindergarten - fifth grade.

Warrior Camp kicks off on June 4th.
