NEW DAWN

Post Summer Break the students were given a warm welcome by the

teachers of the school. The excited and enthusiastic students could be

seen in their classrooms. The students of class XI were also excited for

their new venture and new subjects.

open Declaration of the. The session was divided into two halves:

Fest- post Tea Break and post lunch followed by the valedictory

session. Mr. RakshitA session on Cyberspace was also conducted by

Tandon Advisor-Cyber Crime Unit (U.P and Gurgaon Police) for

the students and the teachers of all the 46 DPSchools, in the school

Auditorium. The one- day fest culminated with the vote of thanks,

proposed by Dr. Zeenat Khadar, National Convenor and Joint

Secretary of Delhi Public School Society and the valedictory

ceremony where the winners and participants were felicitated, .

LET'S CELEBRATE NATURE 2016

The Eco warriors of DPS-GBN have takenan initiative to spread awareness to save theMother Earth. In order to teach the childrenthe importance of preserving, conserving andsaving our Earth, our school organisedvarious activities for the children he motto. Tof the activity was “Go Green”. Theactivities were held in the first week of

July. The students were explained how the human activities in themodern world are a threat to the nature and eventually lead to itsdestruction. Various activities were conducted from classes I-XI likeposter making, compost making, collage making and report writing.

Our school is continuously working towards creating an awareness tosave the Mother Earth.

AWARENESS PROGRAM

An awareness program on the 'Law of Sexual Harassment at work

place' was conducted in the Senior Computer Lab of the school by the

by all the teachers of classes . All theNursery to 10 on 9 July,2016th th

teachers were apprised of the meaning of the term 'sexual harassment'

and its kinds. The need to have a law on it and its history was also

explained. They were informed about the six members of the Law

Committee formed in the school, its purpose, duties, responsibilities and

working. The process following an employee complaint and its

consequences were discussed. The teachers were informed about their

rights and the misuse of these rights. It was an enlightening experience

for all the teachers. They were happy to know that the school was taking

care to provide them with a safe and healthy environment.

ROTARY CLUB OF NOIDA

DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL, GBN INTERACT CLUB which works tospread social awareness was invited as the honourable guest in HotelCrownPlaza, Okhla Installation Ceremony ofin the the new teamofROTARY for the year 2016-17.Mr. Shashank Aggarwal was appointedas the President of Rotary Club for the year 2016-17. DPS, GBN was alsofelicitated as the new Interact Club member. Ms. Preety Malhotra, Ms.Manisha Srivastava and Ms. Jyoti Garg, In-charge Interacts,Club represented DPS,GBN in the function . They also got theopportunity to have a meeting with about all the programsMajor Dalbirwhich DPS, GBN has planned for the Year. It was a good experience tomeet with the people who are contributing for the underbetterment of theprivileged people.

Smile on Innocent Faces!

Interact club a part of DPS, GBN has taken this,initiative forward by bringing smile to the facesof these little kids in its unique way. Interact clubmembers Kovid Lakhera(President) and histeam mates Puneet Awana, Srija Chawlaand Ananya Dhaka spent their time withthese underprivileged children. They provided

moral education to these lovely kids through play way method. Theyperformed the activities like singing and dancing, hyme recitation, storyrnarration. They also played a video on basic traffic rules which the kidsthoroughly enjoyed. Students distributed toffees among the kids toculminate this special occasion with sweets.

EVOLUTION OF SCIENCE

the theme Children“Evolution of Science”.participated enthusiastically and showed keeninterest in all the activities arious. On Day 1 vactivities were designed for the students whoactively participated in this marathon like “RELAY,RACE” on EVOLUTION of SCIENCE, which was a

question hour-round. Role plays were planned and executed where thestudents chose their favourite scientists and enacted them. Brochureswere designed by students which showcased their creativity and aestheticsense. Day 2 witnessed the innovative ideas of the students of Class VIII-who designed '3-D logos', on the theme of “360° evolution of Science'.Students even decorated their classes with scientific gadgets that wereused in different eras. The week culminated with an activity, which was anInter-Class competition, in which children brought nutritious andfoodgave it scientific names. A special assembly was conducted on 20 July,

“CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMME ON SCHOLASTIC ASPECTS OF CCE”

A two day workshop on 'Capacity BuildingProgramme on Scholastic Aspects of CCE'was organized by Pragyan School, GreaterNoida on 22 and 23 July 2016,

strengthen the skills, processes and resources forbetter understanding of CCE (Continuous andComprehensive Evaluation) and the proposed

changes. The two resource persons from CBSE, Mrs. Rajni Jaimini,Principal St. Paul School and Ms Rema Alex Daniel, conducted theworkshop which focussed on explaining Formative Assessment usingmultiple choice questions and analysing and understanding the typologyof question paper and assessing the Co Scholastic areas. Two teachersfrom Science department, Ms. Priya Arora and Ms. Asmita Gaur, attendedthe workshop which was a great learning experience and an eye openerfor various practices to understand CCE in a better way.
