This year we are returning to Ardingly College after they looked after us so well two years ago. Since we were last there, they have built a new pavilion in the training grounds in which we camp. This is great news for us as it means we have access to power and toilets so no need for the dreaded Port-a-loos this year! The final program is yet to be set but we have a number of fun new activities planned as well as the usual back woods cooking, camp fires, camp swings, and all the things that make camp what it is. Summer Camp Planning in Progress… It’s that time again, it always seems to come around so quickly. This year we are returning to Ardingly College after they looked after us so well two years ago. Since we were last there, they

have built a new pavilion in the training grounds in which we camp. This is great news for us as it means we have access to power and toilets so no need for the dreaded Port-a-loos this year!

The final program is yet to be set but we have a number of fun new activities planned as well as the usual back woods cooking, camp fires, camp swings, and all the things that make camp what it is. For those that haven’t experienced 2nd Chailey

Camp before, here are some photos from previous years to give you an idea of what we get up to ….

Favourite Book: Three Men in a Boat by Jerome K Jerome

Idea of Torture: Being forced to watch Britain’s got Talent or similar

What we’ve been up to on Thursdays…

Every  Scout  evening  starts  with  3lag  break  and  ends  with  3lag  down.  The  Scouts  take  it  in  turn  open  the  evening  by  breaking  the  3lag.  Here  Ethan  does  the  honours…

To  celebrate  Valentine’s  day    this  year  we  held  our  very  own  Blind  Date  evening  with  our  host  Cilla  (otherwise  known  as  Liz)!

To  raise  funds  for  the  group  we  held  our  own  “bob-‐a-‐job"  evening  helping  out  around  the  school,  here  we  can  see  Sam,  Henry  and  Ciaron  getting  stuck  in  cleaning  the  windows  and  picking  up  the  leaves  around  primary  school!

Our  Scouts  all  had  to  dress  up  as  Easter  bunnies

before  taking  part  in  the  Easter  egg  hunt!  So  naturally  we  made  bunny  ears  out  of

tights  and  balloons!

The big ride’s approaching!

In the last newsletter we told you about John & Emily Coleman who are cycling from Lands End to John O’Groats to raise money for 2nd Chailey Scout Group. This is an incredible challenge and we are massively grateful to them for taking it on for us. Please show your support at: https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/lejog2014
