OPEN STUDIOS ART SHOW September 8 10am to 6pm
September 9, 10am to 4pm
Raffle drawing Sunday at 3pm
American Legion Hall
20 artists will be gathered at the American Legion Hall on Highway 49 September 8th and 9th for the annual
Open Studios Art Show. It is being held at a new venue and a different weekend from previous years be-
cause of the bridge construction in Sutter Creek.. Each artist and more have donated an original piece of art
for the raffle that is our main fundraiser for the Student Scholarship given out each year. The scholarship is
awarded to a local high school student continuing to pursue art in college. Last year we were able to award
two scholarships because of the success of the raffle, so please come out and purchase tickets while viewing
all of the wonderful art from our participants. There will be food available to purchase that funds a summer
camp at Faith Lutheran Church. Some artists will have ongoing demonstrations during the weekend as well.
Lots of parking and easy access, so plan to come by and spend some time with us!
Sandra Wagner will Demonstrate at Sept. Meeting Sandra is a fiber artist, a fabric hand dyer, surface designer, and designs wearable art...
Fabric has been in her life as long as she can remember starting with doll clothes. She is a
past quilt shop owner and now teaches workshops in fabric art, one of a kind garment and
fabric dyeing. She has taught private classes, at guilds and Houston
International Quilt Festival.
She has shown nationally and internationally, in galleries, and has pieces in private col-
lections throughout the United States. She is a member of Studio Arts Quilt Associa-
tion, STASH Art Group, Art Focus Quilt Group, Sierra Gold Quilters Guild, Sutter
Creek Gallery, Mendocino Art Center, Amador Arts Council, Amador County Artist
Association, and International Quilt Association. The demo will start after the business
meeting on September 12.
