We are looking forward to
many new and upcoming
events. For example, a select
number of students have been
chosen to attend the MS State
Fair where there is an annual
car show located in the
coliseum. The students
will take pictures and
inventory of the
different makes and
models to bring back to
share with the rest of the
classes. The students
will interview several
owners about their cars
and why they chose that
particular make and model to
restore. Until next time, we’re
out. The Automotive
students are off to a great
start this school year.
Presently we have about 42
new and returning students.
We are proud to say that
about 98% of our students
have successfully passed the
safety test and now they are
gearing up for our
community service day in
November.
We have elected our
new officers for our

were very excited when they got to create their first maze game in Microsoft PowerPoint as well as their first custom animation! Currently, the students have been playing some games to further understand game design theory and mechanics. Both Simulation and
Animation Design classes have selected their officers for their student organization, the Technology Student Association (TSA). They are looking forward to getting started on their fundraising to help pay for upcoming field trips and competitions in the future.
During the first quarter of Simulation and Animation Design, the students have learned a lot of material. Topics have ranged from ethics to the evolution of gaming, careers and portfolios, and beyond. The students

Health Science I students have researched the careers they are
interested in pursuing. They also learned the career pathway of the school that offered those programs, responsibilities for that career, wages, and job availability. The first year students also discussed medical, legal and ethical responsibilities in the Health Care field. Students performed role-play scenarios on the correct and wrong way to provide care for
patients. These skills showed forms of malpractice, negligence, psychological, verbal and physical abuse. Health Science II classes have begun this year with many fun group activities such as group and acting out scenarios based on fire safety, learning the correct and incorrect way to prevent and extinguish a fire; they’ve also finished out the group work
on bullying and suicide prevention. During the learning stages of death, students made their own obituaries to see how they would feel or how they would want others to respond to their deaths. Learning has been a fun experience so far and they continue to work hard on skills and techniques, so they can succeed. They are our future leaders.
