objectives we included in our School development plan 2017-2018. These objectives are part of the School plan 2015-2019. The most important one of our educational targets is 'making learning visible', 'reasoned content offer' and the definition of learning that is our main guideline in our educational developments. In addition it is also very important to secure these developments appropriately. The implementation of a new mathematics method in groups 4 thru 8 was also one of our main goals this trimester. In the second trimester we will focus further on educational development and on the implementation of the above objectives. On Monday morning 8 January from 9 to 10 am we are having an information session for parents of new students. This meeting aims to further inform these new parents about the HSL and to allow them to make their acquaintance with other new parents - while also offering them a good opportunity to raise any questions they might have. This past weekend a large group of children, parents and teachers participated in the ‘Santa Run’, organized by the ‘Make a Wish Foundation’. A wonderful charity event that we all so enjoyed being a part of. Together we were the largest group of participants in this event. Definitely to be repeated! In this morning's farewell assembly we said goodbye to a number of students and HSL staff members. We wish these children and their parents the best of luck and a wonderful educational experience at their new schools. During the assembly we also commemorated the fact that Miss Soh Moi has been an HSL employee for 25 years now. What a terrific milestone. In this newsletter's attachment you will find the holiday schedule for the school year 2018-2019. On behalf of the HSL team and board we wish you wonderful holidays, a very nice Christmas and we look forward to seeing you all happy and healthy again on Monday 8 January 2018. With kind regards, Meino Meines HSL principal

All students starting at the HSL after the Christmas holiday break will be introduced in the Friday 26 January assembly. All their parents are warmly invited to join us.

On Monday 8 January 2018 there will be an information session for parents of new students from 9 to 10 am. This meeting is meant to further supply you with practical information and to give you the opportunity to ask your questions to the admin office, the school management team and the new parents welcoming committee.

On Wednesday 10 January the New Parents Welcoming Committee is hosting a coffee morning at the Hollandse Club at 10 am. The Hollandse Club is located at 22 Camden Park, Singapore. For those of you who have been living in Singapore since the las midterm break, or are your children only just starting at the Hollandse School in January 2018: please join us! We look forward to welcoming you! Kind regards, Inge and Maaike

We would like to invite you to an information evening to be held about this camp on Tuesday 9 January at 7 pm. During this evening the program, the trip and the safety details will be explained. Mr. Mark van Loo (founder of the camp) will attend the meeting,

Wanted: library volunteers for Friday. The HSL library team consists of 20 volunteers. Due to some of these volunteers’ imminent relocation two spots will open up on Friday for new, enthusiastic volunteers. When to start: after the Christmas break Time: Fridays from 8:30 am to 1.30 pm Assignments: manage all activities in the library together with another volunteer, check books in and out of the library system, replace books on their shelves, manage reservations, assist students and teachers. Are you interested in reinforcing our team? Please send a message to Linda Dekkers at [email protected].

As the new HSL admissions officer I would like to introduce myself! Rinske Bloemendal, married to Paul and mother of Tijn and Emma. Hailing from Brabant originally, studied in Amsterdam and started the adventure in Singapore in 2006. After seven wonderful years the travel bug caught up with us and we relocated to Mumbai for three very special years. A city full of opposites and very hustling and bustling. Then the opportunity to move back to Singapore presented itself and we took it with both hands.

In Singapore I have worked as Medical Receptionist and Receptionist Coordinator at the International Medical Clinic for six years, a great and energetic position in a very international environment. In January I will start at the HSL, I really look forward to this and can’t wait to meet everyone!

6 t/m 17 jaar. Je wordt ingedeeld op leeftijd en je

eigen niveau van sporten en taal.

Beide Expatkampen vinden plaats in Amersfoort, centraal

in Nederland.

kamp zonder overnachting (iedere dag 9:30-16:30 uur). Meer weten? Kijk op onze

website.
