HAPPY BIRTHDAY
This week to Ben &
Mr Cameron
Have a great day.
Leave I will be taking leave for this week and the next
to care for my son.
During this time, please contact your class
teacher should an issue arise.
I will be checking emails each day but will not
be checking regularly.
I will be in touch with Sandra who will pass on
any concerns to me. Sorry if this causes any
inconvenience.
Thank you, Genevieve
Lucas Proudfoot visit
As part of the Byron Bay Writers
Festival, Storyboard will be visiting
our school next Thursday, June 13.
Storyboard is a free travelling creative
reading and writing workshop. Lucas Proudfoot will
be visiting our school as part of the workshop. Lucas
is a member of the Tweed Coast Aboriginal and
Islander community. He has a background in
professional surfing, cultural dance and is an award-
winning songwriter and musician. Lucas has been
an Australian Indigenous Education Ambassador
and is currently a role model for Books in Homes
Australia.
Lucas is the author of The Proud Foots adventure
series. His books and performances invite young
audiences to learn about Indigenous cultures from
around the globe.
The whole school will be entertained with a one hour
performance. Following the performance a group of
aspiring young writers will be invited to be part of
creative writing workshop.

Book Review
The Magic Beach
by Alison Lester
I like this book because people are swimming in the
sparkling water at the beach. There are lots of
rhyming words.

Reports and Interviews
Your child will receive a mid-year report on Friday
28th June. This report will detail your child’s
progress so far this year and will provide some
information about future directions.
Interviews with your child’s teacher will be held
during Week 10.
K/1 class: We are hoping to have these interviews
on Monday 1st July.
Year 1/2; 3/4 and 5/6 teachers are hoping to con-
duct their interviews on Wednesday 3rd July.
Parents are asked to nominate their three
preferences for interviews and we will do our
best to accommodate these requests (on a first-
in, first served basis). If these days do not suit,
parents are welcome to contact their class teach-
er to arrange an alternative day/time.
The form is on the back page of this newsletter.
Your child has also been given a paper copy of
this form as well.
Thank you

Next meeting 13th June @6pm!
P&C is continuing to develop plans for our school’s nature-based playground.
Over the last 2 weeks, P&C members have met with landscape designers to
discuss the creation of a whole school plan, which we can then complete in
stages. We have beautiful outdoor spaces with so much potential! If you would
like to be involved in this, please come along to the meeting on June 13th.
Kitchen Garden, Wednesday 3 - 3.45pm. All welcome. For students who are
staying after school, parents please call or txt Lyndell on 0419040256 by Tuesday
afternoon to confirm attendance. Thank you.
