Daniela Vazquez is about to start

her dream job with Tuolumne

County Social Services as a Bilingual

programs. This job will be the

perfect foot in the door for a future

career in social services. Daniela is

nearly finished with her degree in

Sociology at Columbia and will

continue to take the last few classes

to finish her degree while working!

Summer has been an exciting time for the Career & Transfer Center!

Many of our students and recent graduates have been working

diligently to explore future careers, apply for jobs, and create resumes

and cover letters. Mary Watts, our full-time Program Technician, has

had 58 appointments this summer with students!

Dan Burdick recently started in July

as a full-time Field Technician at

UDC. This role is everything Dan was

looking for in a job! Dan spends his

days inventorying PG&E power polls

and utilizing GIS software. He works

independently and outdoors, while

using a company vehicle to perform

his work. Daniel found out about

this position as a result of a

classroom presentation from a

current UDC employee in his GIS

class with Jeff Tolhurst. UDC is still

hiring 8-10 more Field Technicians.

use any knowledge in teaching

people about animal care toward
