    NEW LDI FORMAT!

    FORRESTS NEWS

August 7th, Sunday Night Service, 6:00 PM

Sunday August 7th after a brief teaching time we will be rolling out the

Outreach Structure that will begin this fall in September. During service, you will learn more about how our structure will work

and how our districts will function.

You will also meet the district shepherds that have stepped up for eachof the areas in which you live to help us walk this out together.

Come see how our church family will be mobilized to Love OthersandShare Jesusright where we live.

Follow-up letter on our church-wide quarterly meetings will be mailedsoon.

    RELATIONAL OUTREACH STRUCTURE ROLLOUT

LDI 2011-2012 Overview: This year we will run four simultaneous tracts of study throughout the year. Each tract will contain classesspecific to the particular tract. Feel free to take any classes that are of interest or need to you. The following tentative schedule is listed so

that you can know in advance what will be coming up. Prayerfully consider which classes you feel the Lord would like you to be a part of

As we are approaching the September LDI, please contact Sue or Kathy in the church office via email or phone

( [email protected] or [email protected]) to sign up in advance for the September semester as many of these

classes will require the ordering of participant material.

On the Wednesday before each six-week LDI semester there will be an orientation/prayer night. On this night everyone will be together

for a time to hear from each teacher about the upcoming classes and to have a time of prayer over the semester and for the church. We will

also be praying over individuals who express a need for prayer. These Wednesday nights will be very encouraging.

    Dear Church Family,

Terry and I would like to express our heartfelt and deepest gratitude to you for the special service, reception

and love offering given in celebration of our 10 years of ministry at Cornerstone. We were humbled by the

kind words spoken by those from the choir, youth, JOY Group and Pastor Rick. The music selected was up-

lifting and the slide show of our ministry was very moving. After the reception was over we went home toopen and read all the kind cards and comments from so many. You will never know how much we appreciate

the love that was poured out upon us. It was a night of great emotion from tears to laughter.

However, I know the success of this ministry cannot be attributed to one person, for one person cannot do all

that we have collectively done together in the past 10 years. We are blessed to be a part of a church family

who repeatedly sacrifices time and talent to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. Serving alongside of you to

honor our Lord has been a joy and privilege,

My hearts desire has always been that He would increase and I would decrease. My lifes verse is found in

2 Corinthians 3:5 We are not saying that we can do this work ourselves, it is God who makes us able to do

all that we do. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!Joyfully Serving Him,

    Happenings

I cannot remember the last time I experienced a Summer as busy as this one. One week after the students were released fro

school for Summer break I took our students to camp. There are some who think that a week of camp is a vacation for me.

you are one of those who believe this, then let me invite you to come on camp vacation with me next year and you will disco

er just how wrong you are. Nevertheless, I survived a week of little sleep, loud teens, camp food, being away from Kim an

incredible spiritual growth. I returned to Cornerstone on Saturday only to find myself traveling once again to the same cam

on the following Monday. I was afforded the opportunity not only by Camp TVR, but also by Cornerstone to be the cam

speaker. As a result of Cornerstones graciousness to allow me to be gone for a week to speak, 31 teens made professions

faith and many more decisions of rededications were professed. The following week I traveled to Grand Rapids Michigan

perform a wedding for one of the football coaches I coach with at Northwest. The following week was VBS; and, the Sund

after VBS, I was traveling again to be the camp speaker at the Masters Inn located in Virginia. Once again, because of Corne

stones graciousness to share me with other ministries, 42 students surrendered their lives to Christ. When the search tea

called me to Cornerstone 9 years ago, I told them that I would be loyal to Cornerstone but I was about building the kingdom

Cornerstone has allowed me this opportunity through coaching at Northwest and by allowing me to speak at summer camp

I want to publicly thank those who assist me in leading our teens while I am gone and those who have consistently prayed fo

me throughout my time here at Cornerstone. Without this group of people, the youth ministry at Cornerstone would not b

where it is today. To God be the Glory!

The Fall Retreat will be at Look Up Lodge in Taylor Ridge, South Carolina. Th

Camp offers so many things to do. Some of the fun adventures include the following: Paintball, Hiking, Fishing, Kayaking, Canoeing, Paddle Boats, Indoor and Out

door Basketball, Sand Pit Volleyball and High Ropes Course. This is sure to be a great weekend

Retreat Dates: October 28 30 Cost $100Registration forms are available at the information desk in the Commons

    Sunday August 14, 4:00 PM

You still have time to order your tickets for this evening of fun andfellowship at the NewBridge Bank Park in Greensboro. Tickets are$8 for adults and $7 dollars for children (12 and under). You canorder your tickets at the desk in the Commons on Sunday inbetween services or simply come by the office during office hours.Sunday August 7th is the last day you can order your tickets. Ticketswill be made available to those who ordered them on the morning ofSunday, August 14 in the commons. Are You Serving Him?

The chorus of the song, If We are the Body is:But if we are the BodyWhy aren't His arms reachingWhy aren't His hands healing

Why aren't His words teachingAnd if we are the BodyWhy aren't His feet goingWhy is His love not showing them there is way. There is a way

Consider this question: Why you come to church? If your answer does not include, serve, let me encourage you to prayerfully considfinding a place to serve. I have several areas availab where you can serve in the youth ministry right nowPray about it! If you want to be a part of a life changinministry, I invite you to contact me ASAP!

    LIBRARY CORNER - AUGUST 2011

THE AUGUST LIBRARY THEME IS Let God Direct Your Path....at theLibrary! This month we are featuring books from our Fiction section. Come in andcheck out a great book to take on vacation.

Did you know? The library adds new materials monthly. If you dont see a title in thelibrary, fill out a pink slip on the desk with the author and title and slip it into thecheckout box on the counter.

    Attention:

The library will be making some exciting changes in the coming months. Since we have limited space for

new materials, we will be adding a free standing book shelf for childrens materials. This will allow more

shelf space for additional books, CDs and DVDs.

The library staff has been working hard to enter all books and DVDs into our computer database. This will

allow for online checkout instead of the old manual checkout. Stay tuned for the new streamlined checkout

    procedure changes coming in 2012!
