TCGB National Championships 20 March 2010Powerhouse TKD took a team of 14 to the TCGB NationalChampionships in Bracknell, the largest team we have had at atournament for quite a few years. For many of the team, this was theirfirst experience of a tournament, and all members of the team
performed fabulously and represented the club well. It was a pleasurefor the Instructors to see their students perform so well. Oursuccesses in the poomsae tournament meant that the club came thirdin the team competition.Congratulations to all who took part, and to those club members whowon medals.

Grandmaster Park Seminars March 2010The week following the tournament, our association was lucky enoughto host two seminars given by Grandmaster Park Hae Man.Grandmaster Park was vice President of Chungdokwan in Korea and isone of the originators of the Taegeuk patterns that we learn.
Grandmaster Park ensured that everyone who attended received someattention from him, and we all learned valuable advice of how toimprove our patterns.

FACEBOOKFor those club members who use Facebook, there are a couple ofgroups that you may be interested in:
Chung Do kwan G. B. Taekwondo WTFThis is the page for our national association and it is open to anyonewho trains within a TCGB club. It has only recently been set up, and isbeing developed so that it includes details of forthcoming events andprovides an opportunity for members to post information, photos etc.
Why not join the group and find out more about the national associationthat Powerhouse TKD belongs to?
The taekwondo park
The taekwondo park is a massive building project taking place in Koreawhich will eventually become the home of Taekwondo worldwide. Thefacebook page provides some useful information about the project, butmore interestingly also has a number of animated videos on it showinghow to perform the basic techniques of TKD. These may be of interest
to club members (particularly juniors!).

CLUB ADMIN
BE ON TIME FOR LESSONS!!!
Please make sure that you arrive intime to start the lesson promptly. Late
arrivals disrupt the lesson and alsoincrease the risk of injuries etc becausethe students are missing the warm up.
DRINKS
Whilst there is water available atReception in Swanmore, it disrupts thelessons to have students leaving the
hall to get a drink, and the Instructorscannot always keep an eye on thechildren once they have left the hall. You cant always rely on there beingany cups available either!!
Please ensure that you bring a drink ina bottle that can be used in the hall.
Attached is a price list for newsuits and equipment from Kwon. For more information about any ofthe items, please visitwww.Kwon.comThe prices we can offer aresignificantly lower than those youwould have to pay to buy directlyfrom Kwon because we get a clubdiscount. The prices are aimed tocover delivery costs, but if anysurplus is made on an order it willbe put into club funds and used topurchase club equipment.Pleaselet Tessa know if you wantanything

We can use our club discount to buy equipment/uniforms for students who wish to buy their
own items. We have found Kwon to be a reliable supplier and their products are of good
quality.
Listed below are the prices we CHARGE, together with the prices that you would have to pay
if you bought directly from Kwon.
We have to pay a delivery charge on each order which we have taken account of in the
prices below assuming they would be part of a larger order. If someone wants to order an
item and does not wish to wait until we put together a larger order, we will have to put an
additional charge on the order. Please ask for details.
