Dear Eden Hill PS Families, In our ever changing landscape we are all aware that from Saturday, 6th June 2020, Phase 3 of the WA
roadmap to ease COVID-19 restrictions will commence and with that brings some small changes for us at
school from Monday, 8th June 2020.
Parents and carers may come on to our school site to attend pre-arranged meetings and for drop off and
pick up purposes only. We are required to limit this to a maximum of 100 people with physical distancing
of one person per 2 square metres and good hygiene practices applied. We therefore request that you follow
these guidelines as closely as possible and continue to respect our staff who do not want to be put in the
difficult position of asking people to do the right thing. Like you, we are getting use to our ‘new normal’
and want to work with you to ensure a close connection. If you would like to discuss the learning needs of
your child, please arrange a meeting with the class teacher via email or through connect.
One positive that has come from this change in our drop off and pick up situation has been the increase in
confidence and independence of our students in the early years, whose teachers regularly report to me how
impressed they are seeing the students demonstrate this independence. Our Education Assistants will
continue to meet Pre-Primary and Kindy students at the school gates and see them to class.
Reports for Semester One As I mentioned in our last newsletter, Semester one reports will look very different in 2020. We will
provide reports in week 10 via Connect as per our normal processes, however with the regular attendance
of many students being lower over this time, the breadth and depth of the curriculum covered throughout
Semester 1 may have been reduced. For this reason, schools are not required to include A to E grades on
this year’s Semester 1 student reports. As a whole school we will provide a comment for each subject area
with a focus on progress in the Mathematics and English comment section.
Schooling is once again returning to normal and our students are engaging in the regular curriculum, in
their usual classroom environment. Those approved to learn from home are also being supported.
Semester 2 reports will reflect this and therefore provide the usual, more detailed information on your
child’s progress and achievement.
Thank you for your continued support and encouragement as we work together to provide the best learning
opportunities for our students. As we progress, I’ll be sure to keep you updated with any new information.
Frequently Asked Questions Please check our updated FAQ sheet on CONNECT for specific details of changes that apply at Eden Hill
Primary from Week 7.
Thank you for your continued support as we all make our way to our new normal together.
Keep safe and well.
Kind regards,
Natalie Mayho
