Dear Parents/carers,

From next week we will have a Christmas post-box in the main recep-tion. If your child wants to bring Christmas cards to school, please pop them in the post-box and they will be delivered. Please could you help us by making sure the cards have the child’s name and class on the front of the envelope so our ‘elves’ know where to deliver it to!

We need volunteers to help with Christmas Lunch on Wednesday 11th December. For those of you who are new to the school, we will have two sittings for Christmas Lunch and the children sit to-gether with staff for a lovely festive occasion. We can only do it if we have enough parents/carers to help. We need parents/carers from about 11.30 to serve the children. Please let the office know if you are able to help.

Christmas Jumper Day nationally is on Friday 13th December but we will be marking it on Christmas Dinner Day—Wednesday 11th December.

If your child wants to raise money for Save the Children, they can bring in £1.00 and wear a festive jumper on the 11th December AND wear it again on Friday 13th December.

Let’s see how much we can raise for this important charity and brighten up our Christmas Dinner

Leave of Absence Reminder

We understand that there may be occasions where your children are unable to attend school due to a flight being delayed or cancelled or perhaps other unforeseen circum-

stances such as falling ill whilst on holiday. We strongly advise that you retain any flight documents or other forms of paperwork pertaining to this absence as the Local Authori-

ty may request this evidence. We would also like to remind you that schools are ex-pected to follow up absences, particularly those adjoining school holidays.

On some occasions, the Local Authority may also issue a fixed penalty notice of £60 per parent, per child if you are unable to provide evidence of an absence in these circum-stances. For any queries about leave of absence, please do not hesitate to contact us

for further information.

Wow!! What an amazing performance was put on by Robin Hood Class in our first ever Cop-petts Wood Poetry Slam. With the support of Eastside and our Poet Paul Lyalls all the chil-dren in the class created and performed amazing performance poems based on the theme I know I wish I will. All the children will be entered into the I know I wish I will poetry mara-thon competition to have the opportunity to perform on the West End stage on World Poet-

ry Day 2020 and possibly contribute to breaking a Guinness World Record!!
