HELPING OUT THE REGIONAL STAFF ON THE IPAD

Dear Parents,

Our Monday assemblies are a wonderful celebration

of the achievements of the students at our school.

Please feel free to come along at 9.00am. This Mon-

day it was great to see the presentation of photos at

the gym program. These gave a terrific representation

of all of the activities the children had participated in

during the program. Thank you to Mrs Brunswick for

putting it together.

The children continue to practice hard for the school

concert next week. It is going to be a great event so

make sure you get your tickets asap.

Today we have had a number of visitors from Re-

gional Office. These visitors worked with the Grade

5/6 students to get their iPad licences. The students

did a fantastic job testing them on their knowledge of

the iPad.

Earlier this week letters went out to next year’s Prep

children regarding their orientation program. If you

know of anyone who hasn’t enrolled their child yet

please encourage them to do so as quickly as possible

so that they can be involved in the program. It is also

important that we get accurate enrolment figures for

planning for 2011.

Please note that during Term 4 AASC will be held

after school on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Enjoy the rest of your week

Kerry McGuffie

ZONE ATHLETICS Our 10,11 and 12 year old students will be compet-

ing in the Zone Athletics on Wednesday September

8th . The sports are held at the Flora Hill Athletics

Complex. Our school is in charge of running the

Sprints and High Jump and will require helpers for

the day. ( Approx 9.30 pm - 2.00pm)

Mrs Brunswick still requires about 9 help-

ers...can you help?

Junior Football Match – Last Friday of

Term 3 Family and friends are invited to attend the annual Prep,

1 & 2 football match on Friday, 17th September at Ep-

som Primary School. Highlights of the day will include:

12:00pm Hot dog lunch prepared by volunteer par-

ents. Order form on front page

Sausage sizzle for spectators—$2 sausage in bread.

Limited number of sausages.

Finals of the longest kick competition

1:00 – 1:20pm Prep Football Match.

1:20 – 1:40pm 1/2 Football Match.

1:40—2:00pm Pack up

2:00 – 2:30pm Presentations & final assembly.

With increased numbers in the Lower school some

modifications have been necessary.

There will be TWO matches played! ( A prep game

and a 1/2 game)

After the final of the Longest Kick the Prep game

will commence at 1.00pm. This will be followed by

the 1/2 game at 1.20pm.

The grade 5/6 students are assisting with the or-

ganisation and running of the day but we do need

an umpire willing to do both games. If you can

assist please notify Mrs Brunswick. The rules

are very simple! We ask that all spectators add to the atmosphere by

wearing or waving something to indicate their team.

Children are divided into red and white teams (the

school colours). In the event of wet weather we will still

have the hot dog lunch but will postpone the match.

In January 2011, students aged 15 – 18 years, from over 20 countries will be arriving in Australia to study at local schools for 2-10 months. Opportunities exist to act as a host family in a volunteer/unpaid capacity. Hosting can be on a temporary, short or long term basis. Host families help provide our students with the chance to study and experience life in Australia. This is a great way to learn about another country and culture, establish a lifelong link to a family in another country and contribute to international goodwill. If your family can offer a friendly, sup-portive and caring home environment, contact us today. To learn more about this opportunity call Student Exchange Australia New Zealand on 1300 135 331 or visit our website. http://studentexchange.org.au/
