Welcome to the new term and to the second semester, hopefully
everyone has had a chance to rest awhile and to store up their
energy reserves for the busy term ahead. A special welcome
goes to our new families, staff members and students.
With key events such as the College Concert (25th-26th August) and the College
Fete (16th September) not that far away, it promises to be another action-packed
term ahead. The first meeting for the semester of the College Advisory Board
will be held next Monday, 25th July, while the Parents’ and Friends’
Association will gather on Thursday, 28th July.
The College Senior Netball team competed in the National Marist
Championships in Woolwich (Sydney) during the first week of the recent
holiday break. Our thanks go to Ms Christina Augustin (manager), Ms Stacy
Mutuota and Mrs Cheryl Talbot (coach) for leading the group; the girls had
mixed fortunes on the court but gave a good account of themselves, bringing
plenty of positive spirit to each of their games.
The College has been asked to host the National Marist Basketball
Championships in 2013. This will be a huge undertaking and will involve about
four hundred participants. We’ll need to start preparing an organising
committee in the not too distant future. The event will be held at the end of the
first term, 2013.
Hopefully each of our students has returned with specific goals in mind and a
determination to make real progress, not only in their academic pursuits, but in
all the other important aspects of school life. Our senior students, in particular,
must set their sights on the future, and make the most of the remaining lessons
before the final examinations.
Let’s work together to make this a very happy term.

College News
Dear Parents and Carers,
Our school has been invited to participate in a trial of the National Model for Identifying Students with Disability. The
development of a national model for identifying students with disability will ensure that data collected by governments is
nationally consistent, therefore resulting in better outcomes for all students.
Only information currently held by our school in relation to students with disability will be used and recording will be in
such a way that no child can be identified. Student names will not be collected.
Should you have any concerns regarding this, or prefer that your child’s information not be included in our data collection,
please contact Colleen Marzohl on 0408 163 518.
Kindly note that College Students are only
supervised between the following hours:
Bath St Campus 8:00am to 3:20pm
Traeger and Sadadeen Campus 7:55am to 3:20pm
Please bear these times in mind when
dropping off or picking up your children.
Community News
