Our students have represented our school and community well in our celebrations for academic honors, JROTC ball, Homecoming, and our numerous extra-curricular events. We will continue to make the second half even more successful by working together to celebrate our students and raise awareness for college and career opportunities. December will be a busy month with the annual Madrigal Dinner the week of December 3rd and our holiday concert on the 11th. Enclosed is our schedule for finals week. Students need to attend only the classes that have scheduled assessments. For example, students do not need to report to study hall. Parents across Illinois will have an opportunity to participate in the sixth annual statewide Illinois 5Essentials Survey. This survey is designed to generate a detailed picture of the inner workings of our school. As a parent, this opportunity will allow you to share your thoughts on the important elements of school effectiveness in a survey about our school. On behalf of the Illinois State Board of Education, the Illinois 5Essentials Survey will be administered online by UChicago Impact at the University of Chicago. The survey gathers data that will appear on our school report card and is accessible to the public. Individual responses are anonymous. We appreciate your time to provide input for Danville High School and our report card. So far, we are in need of at least 150 more responses in order to get the data we need. ACCELERATED JROTC - FALL 2019JROTC

Ever thought about being in Army JROTC, but you didn’t sign up as a freshman? Good news! Next school year the JROTC program will be offering an accelerated course for all sophomores and juniors. The class will be designed to be completed during a normal yearlong class in just one semester. Cadets will be challenged to set high standards and to work harder than the normal JROTC class. Students must have under 5 disciplinary referrals, must be an A/B average grade point, and must be willing to wear the JROTC uniform and follow the uniform standards. This is not a mandatory class, this is a class that will challenge you to develop your character and to be a better citizen. Are you up for the challenge? Spots are limited so please let you counselor know now and to sign you up in the fall.
