From time to time, resources, books and equipment from school end up in homes. Can you please check if you have any school resources at home. If you do, please return them to school, no questions asked! Is your child becoming independent? Do they pack their bags? Maybe make their own lunch, dress themselves and carry their own bag to the classroom etc. Independent children often become independent learners when they are responsible for themselves! The classes are all busy preparing for our production. A letter will be sent home shortly requesting support from parents with various jobs associated with the production. We hope many of you will be able to support us to make the production a memorable occasion. God Bless you all, Mike Dowd – Principal. JOY COWLEY VISIT Joy Cowley is one of New Zealand’s favourite authors. The children had an amazing day listening to Joy read her favourite stories and sharing her secrets on how to be a successful writer. Joy really enjoyed the wonderful

questions that our students asked her. Each class created a psalm for Joy which was bound into a book for her. Fatima’s Psalm is attached in this newsletter. We will feature a class psalm for your reflection in each newsletter for the rest of the year. Lourdes wrote a wonderful psalm based on our school Gospel Values which they then turned into a song. The whole school learnt the song and we sung it to Joy. (Thanks Mrs Murphy!)

COVER YOUR COUGHS & SNEEZES

Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze and put your used tissue in a bin (if you don’t have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your upper sleeve – not your hands).

Remember to wash your hands afterwards. Avoid touching your nose, mouth or eyes. Germs spread that way.

If your child is sick or displaying symptoms of the flu, you should keep them at home for seven days after their symptoms begin or until they have been symptom free for 24 hours, whichever is longer.
