They all had some drum experienc e then a lesson with the H ead of Music at Waikato Univ ersity who surprised them by teaching in bare feet and often with- out words which kept them on their toes, then a band practice with 80 other students. Even after the rst practice it sounded awesome with solos from Levi Flinto and Jordyn Mellow. On the Friday they all sang which was something new for a couple of the students but it was fun and they all enjoyed the experience. A performance for students and parents on the Friday afternoon went well and we want to thank all the parents who provided transport over the two days.  Pulse 2011 Friday night saw our two Rock Bands, ‘Surrounded’ and ‘Bullet Proof’ competing at Pulse. Wow, what an awesome experience to be on stage with an audience of hundreds of screaming fans, strobe lighting and celebrities oating around.  Both bands played well with Bullet Proof having their original song nominated into the top three. ‘Big ups’ to everyone and thanks to those who came to support us.  MIS Board of Trustees News TEACHER ONLY DAY: The MIS BOT has approved a Teacher Only Day on Friday 2nd September for teachers to take part in professional development.
