This has been a special week in the MIS calendar with our school production performances taking place; we have had over 160 students involved and the cast and crew are listed over the page. This is a great opportunity for students to get involved in a major production, which is a new experience for many of them. The final night of our school production is tonight, it has been a great success and our students have been very proud to be able to showcase their talents to parents, siblings, grandparents and the Morrinsville community. We are very lucky to have such a talented group of students here at MIS! Everyone involved has put in countless hours of hard work in preparation for the production and we are very appreciative of the dedica- tion from students and staff. There are still a few tickets available for tonight’s show; they can be purchased from the school office. We would like to thank our school families for their help in ensuring students are at rehearsals at the right time and with the right gear. We are aware many families have had to rearrange their family lives over the past week or two, especially to allow for their children being in the production, and for this we are very grateful!! Finally we would like to thank the parents who have helped out with organisation including costumes, hair and make-up, supper preparation and general supervision of students. In the 5 th week of this term Matty Hopper and Bradley Larsen travelled to Mt Maunganui to take part in the annual NZ AIMS Squash Competition. On Monday they had the 1 st and 2 nd Rounds. They both lost their first games but won their second. The following day they both played very well, winning all 3 games. On Wednesday they had slightly harder games; they moved up the ranks as both boys managed to win their games Brad- ley was placed 18 th and Matty placed 17 th which meant they had to play each other! The boys played very well against tough competi- tion and their overall placings were Matty 17 th and Bradley 18. th The boys would like to thank their supporters especially Rebecca Hopper for managing the team. We had to play seven games of chess against two other schools. They were Stanley Ave and Hauraki Plains College. It was a close competi- tion.
