    Congratulations to our nal two students for 2011 who have been accepted to receive an MIS Honours Award.These students will receive their Honours Awards at our End of Year Excellence Prizegiving next Wednesday.

    Smart has achieved Excellence in Culture and Academics and Merit in Civics.

    Tayla Wells has achieved Excellence in Civics and Academics and Merit in Culture.

    All students who manage to achieve Honours at MIS have done so by activelymaking the most of the extension and enrichment programmes our schooloers. These achievements are not only a credit to the students involved butalso an outstanding example of school-wide attitude, character and eort thatwe value in all MIS students.

    With the end of 2011 in sight, we would like to say how much we are looking forward to welcoming our new Year7s next year. It has been great getting to know them and seeing them in our school over the past few weeks.

    At this time of year we are also getting ready to say farewell to half our school roll, as our Year 8s move o tocollege. This years group of Year 8s has been a real asset to our school and we will be sad to see them go. Manyof them are well on their way to becoming ne young men and women and we wish them all the very best!

    End of Year Reports All students will bring their End of Year Report home tomorrow.     A reminder that school re-opens on Wednesday 1st February, 2012 for all Morrinsville Intermediate Students.Students will come into our school hall at 8.50am when the rst bell rings to hear class lists.

    Stationery lists for next year were given to all year 7 students today. We would like to wish everyone a safe andhappy holiday and look forward to another fantastic school year in 2012.

    Last day of school

    A reminder that school nishes at 12.30pm next Wednesday at the conclusion of Prizegiving.Buses will also be running at the earlier time.

    Year 8 Formal Social

    Our Year 8 Social is being held tomorrow night andeveryone is looking forward to a lovely evening. TheSocial is always a great way for students and teachersto celebrate the two years they have spent togetheras they get ready to move on to college. The Social isheld from 7.00-9.30pm. Students must be collectedfrom the foyer at 9.30pm.

    The MIS Board of Trustees is very happy to advise

    families that Natalia Taylor has been appointed as apermanent teacher following Kylie Brunts resignationfrom full-time employment (Kylie is currently on Materni-ty Leave and will be in school next year as a part -timeRelease Teacher).

    The Board is also advising families that Sean Dean hasresigned as he is moving to Auckland with his wifeRenee. Sean has been a valuable member of ourteaching sta here at MIS for the past two years and,although he will be missed by both students and sta we

    wish him all the best for the future.

    Kate Corrigan has been appointed as Seans replace-ment; Kate is currently teaching Year 7 & 8 students atStanley Ave School in Te Aroha and is very enthusiasticabout joining us at here at Morrinsville Intermediate.

    MORRINSVILLE YEAR 8 BASKETBALL BOYS THAMESVALLEY BASKETBALL CHAMPS. On Friday these Boys wonthe Thames Valley Basketball Championships. The final was avery close game but the Morrinsville boys came home thewinners 43 to 34. Congratulations to all the team!

    MIS Boys 1st XI Cricket Team has qualified for theGrand Final of the Intermediate Premier 1st XI CricketCompetition. The game will be at Flagstaff Park vsBerkley at 9am on Sunday. Congratulations on anawesome season and good luck for the final!!
