Dear Parents

Creator God Bless us with good things.

Bless our vision, our school and goals. Bless us in all that we do for each other.

Help us to learn how to reach out to others. Bless the children, parents, and staff placed in our care. May we support each other in every possible way in order to create community.

Welcome back to everyone in our school community. It was great to see all the happy and smiling faces as the children arrived today. The energy and excitement of the children was infectious! The staff has been back hard at work for some days now but the school came to life today with the arrival of 807 students and many of their parents. Finally welcome to our students and families who are beginning their last year of association with St Vincent’s - we hope that many vibrant memories are created, especially for our Year 6 and 7 leaders this year. A huge thank you to all parents for the fantastic way that your children were prepared for school. Once again we experienced a ‘smooth’ start to the year and that is a direct reflection on the positive way you have prepared the children. TEACHING STAFF 2014

SIGN IN, SIGN OUT PROCEDURES

All visitors are required to sign in and out at the office.

Children arriving after the bell are required to report to the office to be issued with a ‘late slip’ to be handed to the teacher on arrival at class.

Parents collecting children prior to the end of the school day must report to the office first, be issued with a ‘permission to leave early’ slip, and then hand this slip to the class teacher before the child is dismissed. All teachers will request an ‘early to leave’ slip before allowing a student to leave the classroom.

Your cooperation is always appreciated. These measures ensure our roll is up to date and current at all times.

PARENT INFORMATION EVENINGS At the start of every year, parent information meetings for parents of children in Years 1 to 7 are held. These meetings allow teachers to talk about expectations for the year, discuss class routines and inform parents of curriculum matters. They also allow parents to meet the staff and get a feel for the classroom. These meetings are for parents only and staff members are not available to supervise children. Tuesday 4/2/14 Year 3—6pm Wednesday 5/2/14 Year 2—6pm Thursday 6/2/14 Years 6&7—6pm Year 4—7pm Year 1—7pm Year 5—7pm NUT FREE St Vincent’s strives to be a NUT FREE school. Welcome back one and all! Alex and I hope your Christmas was one filled with lovely times spent with family and those who mean so much to you. We look forward to our year ahead with many exciting classes, events and experiences planned. Classes will begin again in week three of this term. Prior to this, newsletters and accounts will be forwarded home with full details of our year. Keep your eye out for these next week! If you are new to the school or are interested in our programme, some limited vacancies exist in grades from year two to year seven. Please feel free to obtain an enrolment form from the main office. This will give you an overview of our classes, aims, fee structure etc. If you would then like to proceed with the enrolment, leave the form at the office for our collection or feel free to drop me an email. We look forward to another year filled with anticipation, new challenges and exciting and fun times! Anita

SPEECH AND DRAMA NEWS

TERM 1 SCHOOL FEES

Your school fee statement will be emailed to you next week. Please note that fees are due by FRIDAY 14th FEBRUARY and your prompt attention in settling fees by this date is greatly appreciated. Would you carefully check your statement and if there are any discrepancies, please advise. A direct debit form has been sent home with every student. If you did not receive this form please call into the office. We encourage our families to complete a direct debit form as this is an easy alternative to pay your school fees – once set up, you don’t have to worry about it again. For those families who were on direct debit or credit card payment plan last year with a final date, a new form for 2014 will need to be completed. If you are unsure, please phone or email Sharon Simmons (5572 1746 / [email protected]) For those families wishing to pay via Bpay, details are located in the top section of your statement. Alternatively, the bottom

portion of your fee statement can be completed with your credit card details and dropped at the office in the 'fee collection box'

to avoid lengthy queues.

Thank you,

Sharon Simmons (Finance Officer)
