P&C FUNDRAISING SUCCESS As a result of generous support from our parent body over $2100 was raised last Friday at the street stall and raffle.
Having an active P&C, as well as a generous community will help fund our next project to improve facilities at Molong
Central School. Thank you to all parents who donated money, made cakes, sold raffle tickets or gave up their time to
ensure the success of this fundraising venture. Our P&C benefits all students and I encourage your attendance at the next
P&C meeting on Monday June 27 in the Common Room. It is a great opportunity to meet other parents and discuss future
directions for the school.
WHEELER’S ePLATFORM LAUNCH On Monday night Michele Hall our Librarian will give a parent and student demonstration of our new electronic book platform. MCS STUDENTS EXCELLING AT SPORT Four students will represent Molong Central at the NSW Cross Country Championships in Term 3. Jesyca Pearson,
Brooke Watts, Maggie Kirby and Taylah Hobbs will all run at Eastern Creek early in Term 3. Our 16’s,Open League 7’s
and Primary Boys Softball teams have all won through to the next stages of competition. Well done to all of these students
who are excelling in sport.
INFORMATION, COMMUNICATION & TECHNOLOGY STUDENTS CREATING AN APP Students in Year 10 have been busily working on an App for the RSL to allow members of the community to access
records and other relevant information to ensure the stories of our veterans continue to be passed on to future
generations. The development of the App allows for the students to work across several subject areas and provide access
to a valuable resource for the community.
WRITING FOCUS AT MOLONG CENTRAL SCHOOL It was great to visit several classes on Monday morning
to find teachers imbedding writing strategies into their
classes. While Year 9 learnt about the Archibald Prize
in Art they also explored ways of making their writing
more sophisticated. I was impressed with the level of
prior learning students brought to the class and
watched students develop their ideas. There was also
an opportunity to view some of the creative ideas the
students have been developing.

MCS STUDENTS VISIT NESTLE PURINA BLAYNEY
Molong Central Business Studies students toured the facilities at Nestle Purina at Blayney as part of a unique opportunity to examine the manufacturing environment of a leading global business based in the Central West. Students on the half day tour were able to examine first-hand the manufacturing, supply chain and logistic processes. Factory Manager Karl Nealon took an hour out of his busy schedule to outline contemporary business issues facing the company, and a history of manufacturing at the site. He also provided an overview how their cat and dog food products such as Proplan, Felix and Supercoat are marketed and distributed. “Nestle believes it’s important to add value to the community and providing these students a tour of facilities to help with their education is a perfect opportunity for us to be involved”, said Mr Nealon. To ensure safety whilst walking through the wet and dry manufacturing facilities students were required to wear full protective clothing which included goggles, hard hats, fabric gloves, apron and ear plugs. “This tour has been really informative. It’s been invaluable and has provided me with a better link between classroom theory and real word practice”, said Lachlan Middleton Year 12 student. The HSC Business Course is divided into four components comprising of Operations, Marketing, Financial and Human Resources Management. Each unit takes approximately 10 weeks to complete. As noted by the Board of Studies, Teaching and Educational Standards (BOSTES) the three most popular elective courses in the HSC are Maths, Biology and Business Studies. SRC ORGANISING MUFTI DAY FOR SIDS
Tomorrow, Friday 24th June, the SRC is organising a fundraiser for SIDS and Kid’s Foundation. It will comprise of a RED coloured mufti day, with students asked to wear something red and make a gold coin donation. Cupcakes will be on sale on the day also. ($0.50-$1.00 costs). Associated with the day the SRC has arranged for a Nurse to present information to Years 7-10 in Year groups regarding SIDS, safe sleeping techniques and CPR. The school is happy to support such a critical fund raiser and it is great for the SRC to see this as an opportunity for educating the school community about SIDS.

Hi Everyone,
As we draw to the end of term it is important that
all students have a good search at home for
overdue Library books. Students may borrow
over the holidays. It will be an excellent
opportunity for students who are still completing
the Premier’s Reading Challenge to borrow and
do some reading.
Our congratulations this week go to Zoe Strahorn
in Kinder Hope. During this term she has been
borrowing before and after school. Zoe has made
a concerted effort to read 30 books and it has
certainly helped her to reach her goal. Well done!
eBooks are coming! To assist me with purchases
for our newest collection I would love students K-
12 to see me and suggest some titles they would
like me to buy. I will have slips for students to fill
in and place in a ‘Wish Box’.
