Emami ropes in Bipasha Basu as its brand ambassador

The Kolkata-based FMCG major, Emami, has roped in Bollywood diva Bipasha Basu as its brand ambassador for three years for a contract of 3-4 crores..

M&M enters bike market with 2 models

Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) on Thursday entered the segment with the launch of two models— Stallion and Mojo.

Stallio is priced at Rs 44,699 , and Mojo will have a premium tag of Rs 1.75 lakh.

Mojo is the fastest Indian bike.

M&M expects its two-wheeler business to break even next fiscal.

Etisalat offers $10.5 bn for Zain stake

Etisalat , the United Arab Emirates’ largest phone company, offered to buy 46% of Kuwait’s Zain for about $10.5 billion.

Holders of the 46% stake in Zain are likely to approve the Etisalat offer.

The Kharafi Group is the second largest shareholder in Zain, with about 13%.

Indigo gets permission to fly overseas

Budget air carrier Indigo has received government's permission to fly from next year.

The airline would now work on routes and other modalities involved in its proposed international operations.

Indigo is the second budget air carrier after Spice Jet, which would be flying overseas.

Spice Jet, plans to launch flights to Kathmandu and Colombo from next month.

Audi launches petrol Q7 at Rs 59.29 lakh

German luxury carmaker Audi has launched a petrol variant of its sports utility vehicle Q7 in India, priced at Rs 59.29 lakhs.

Audi India claimed that the new Q7 will reach a speed of 100 km per hour in just 6.9 seconds and can attain a top speed of 245 km per hour.

Audi India is expecting to sell about 2,700 units this year compared to 1,658 units in 2009.
