GM India to come out with electric car next year

• GM will showcase an electric car next year.

• It would be an environment-friendly small car and would be a battery operated car.

• In a joint collaboration with China's SAC GM will bring three "value-package" cars.

• It would soon be commissioning the power train facility wherein both petrol and diesel engines are going to be manufactured together.

Jaguar Land Rover launches armoured vehicles • Tata Motors-owned Jaguar Land Rover launched

the armoured range of its Range Rover and Discovery sports utility vehicles, with prices of Rs 4.75 crore and Rs 3.75 crore .

• The company is also looking at launching the armoured version of Jaguar XJ sedan, which could be priced around Rs 5.5 crore.

• Tata Motors and JLR are currently working on assembling some products from Land Rover in India in order to meet demands in India.

Fiat to launch brand stores, without Tatas• The Italian car major, Fiat, plans to open

exclusive company-owned brand stores in major cities.

• The brand stores would be an indirect way of starting its own retail format without involving Tata Motors.

• Fiat will also display its merchandise and accessories at these brand stores, which will also serve authentic Italian coffee.
